We live in the underground...
We live in the underground! In darkness buried deep, On the cellar walls moss is found, On the floor rain does seep In the dark underground A dream blinded our sight: Seeping on the floor Kinneret; Dim bulb a ray of sun light. And we'll believe: on a darkened day, When a gun shall give the battle beat, With G-d, war and decay The redeemer of Zion we'll greet. We'll greet him: may our blood be On the streets a carpet red, And on this carpet our skulls will be As the white roses shed. Written by 'Yair', Jerusalem, 1933.
