Trenches on The Web. This is the big site on the web with many links to other places.
The Great War Another large and very comprehensive site, although quite graphically intensive and takes a while to download.
Spartacus Online Spartacus is an National Curriculum Resource "I'm Spartacus!" This is the best place to start if you know nothing about the war, as it is well laid out, easy to navigate and extremely well-written.
The World War One Archive This site is available at both the Kansas University and Oxford University. One of the best reference sites on the web with memoirs, letters, essays and large photographic archives.
Oxford University Award winning academic site with online tutorials, the Manuscripts of "Anthem For Doomed Youth", alternative poets (including a large section on women's poetry during the war), and trench songs.
The Heritage of The Great War. Dedicated to more unorthodox articles and aspects of the war, this site has a huge area devoted to music-hall and marching songs
The Great War in a Different Light huge archive of accounts, magazines , books and articles all published around the time of the war. In many ways a companion site to this one as it expresses similar ideas and arguments about understandings of the war at the time .
The Great War.org have included the "Satirical Magazines" part of the site. (go direct to the article here ). A good selection of features on a growing site.
Horrible Homepage. Scholastic Books' site devoted to Terry Deary's Horrible Histories.
Tideway School,Lancing Project. Pupils of this school in Sussex carried out some excellent research and have published it here. Also includes short wavs of Trench recordings (not currently working)
