All About CHOPPER SQUAD

Chopper Squad make electronic dance music influenced by everything from 60's funk and 70's disco, through to 80's synth-pop and the house, trip-hop and big beat sounds of the 90's.

Chopper Squad is the work of JOHN RICHARDS and DAVID ASHTON,  two aircraft mechanics who have been making music together in their spare time for around five years. Previously John had been one half of synth-pop duo ABOUT SIX FEET, and co-wrote the song "Tingly", recorded by POP, which made a significant dent in the Australian charts, and made it onto the soundtrack of NEIGHBOURS and HOME AND AWAY. David had worked as a DJ and recording engineer at radio station 3RRR FM.

David and John are both part of disco/pop/electronica act THE INTERNATIONAL JEWEL THIEVES, but Chopper Squad is an outlet for their more purely dance-oriented material.

As well as producing their own music, Chopper Squad are keen to produce and/or re-mix songs with other artists, and are currently seeking management and record company interest.
