For the 2004 season. We only had a short period of time to get the car ready because I decided I wanted to do it 2 and half weeks before the actual demolition derby. I was driving by my uncles house/garage and saw that his derby car was ready, thats what made me realize I wanted to give it a shot. So after a few hours of begging my dad to get the old Parisienne from the backyard out we were finally on our way. This was my first Demolition Derby car and not my last.

It took us almsot 3 weeks to get it ready and it was a rushed car but a strong car with a dependable engine and a rookie driver. We got two derbys out of it.

~~Stratfords Demolition Derby~~
We entered and got ellected as one of the 4 best appearing cars to show off our car and let the crowd decide who had the best looking car. My Uncle and a friend of ours Tyler were all ellected as best appearing cars unfortunately the 4th person won, I guess they had more family in the crowd.
Theres always next year.
So me and my uncle got put into different heats. Me in heat 2 and him in heat 1. He ended up winning his heat and moving on to the finals. Although he didn't have much of a car left he still wanted to continue.. Unfortunately his car was not longer even attached to the frame and his frame already started to snap downwards in the center.  As for me I got hung up on the cinder block and didn't even get to hit a car.  So I was unlucky and had to be put into the hardluck heat where there was 13 of us all together, leaving my hopes low I gave it my all and had the time of my life. With my foot on the petal and my wheels always moving I managed to be the last car standing along with one other car. After that we had only 10 minutes to repair some major damage to the rad... Luckily we found someone that had a spare rad. but they wanted something in return. so we traded our only spare tire for a radiator. We replaced the rad and tied what was left of the back end up and went on to the feature. Me and my Uncle started beside eachother and gave eachother the thumbs up. Off we went. my Uncle Kev got stuck in a corner early on but that didn't stop him he got out and ended up leveling a few cars. Me I stuck to the opposite corner and used what I had for a back end to try and take out some tires because by that time I only had the horns from the frame sticking out because I lost my bumper. And it worked too. I was trying hard to not use my front end as much because I knew it was strong but if I wanted a chance in winning this I would need it for the end of the Feature. So my uncle finally got taken down with one final blow to the front and it was down to 4 cars. Luckily I still had all 4 tires and most of my front end, actually a lot of my front end. So I lined up to hit one of the remaining cars with my front end and had to slam on the breaks because he pulled his drivers door. Shortly after I stalled but managed to fire it back up and not be counted out, within the next minute it was down to 3 cars and I was stalled yet again. I fired it back up and the car everyone thought would win it had me lined up, except I never even knew it. So I hit the gas and went for the opposite car but as I was flying at the other car the car that had me lined up smoked my left front end and mounted my hood. After that I was tied up on the cinder block yet again! and he was tied up on my hood... So typically he got 2nd and I got 3rd. I was pleased with the performance that came from this demo and walked away with my head held high.

~~Ilderton Demolition Derby~~
This demolition derby was ran by a different company so unfortunately I got caught only being 17 at the time so my dad had to do it for me, he was not impressed because he felt hes to old for stuff like that. Unfortunately there was not much left of the car after the stratford demo, except I had a great front end left. So we did wut we could to the car to get it ready for ilderton. Typically speaking our chances of even winning anything were slim to none, but thats not why we entered.. we entered to have a good time and get some experience and I got both :-) My dad went into the first heat and some how managed to not loose any tires or blow even a rad. He was put in a heat againsted the winner of the western fair. Who had one hell of a strong car. So I don't know exactly how it happend but my dad ended up with 3 cars remaining and threw in the odd hard with with the PERFECT front end fold possable! That front end protected everything, exspecially the rad. So the guy from Western Fair had a run at the other car that was standing and ended up getting himself hooked therefor all my dad had to do was keep it running and he was declaired the winner. So he did and I don't know if I was ever happier then I was at that moment, I didn't know if I wanted to tell him I told you so or say congratuations.. so Instead of being a dick I told him how awesome that was.. unfortunately there was not much more of the car after that heat and the feature wasn't the greatest but we went in it anyways. I think my dad ende dup getting 5th or so but he went out with one hard hit ... right intot he blocks! lol... I love you Dad!
