My Knowledge of the Maternal Side of the Filla Family Begins Here
They had five children
Anastasia Filla(1849-Dec. 16, 1887)
Anastasia Filla married John Filla (same last name but not
related)
Francisca Filla marriedAlbert Filla (same last name but
not related)
John C. Filla married Catherine Maxs
Joseph Filla married Carolyn Skornia
Martin Filla married Agnes Pitowezyk
Francisca Filla(1853- Mar. 28, 1882) (buried Mar 31, 1882)
John C. Filla(Nov. 1, 1855-Oct. 9, 1933)
Joseph Filla
Martin Filla(died August 5, 1921)
This is where the confusion starts with regard to the FILLA
name.
This is where the confusion gets worse as Anastasia and Francisca
Filla who were sisters married John & Albert Filla who were
brothers yet the two Filla Families were not related until these
marriages took place. Lot's of double-cousins came about after
that!
Credit goes to Alice Veyna, who carefully researched,
travelled to many cities, & retrieved most of this information.
Her great-grandmother, Anastasia, was a sister to my grandmother,
Francisca. These are the two ladies who married two brothers.
We owe these ancestors a debt of gratitude for our lives and the
interesting confusion they brought to our family.
