Sleds used in Norway

The use of pack horses (kløvhest) is probably the oldest way to transport goods with a horse in Norway. Bad roads and paths was not suited for carriages, but sleds could be used all seasons.

The first sled type was most likely the slep.
A drag sled gave room for much goods.
The first summer farms could be mobile fences and a grindhus (mobile homesled) for the shepherd.
Coal sled made of a wowen board like the early fences.
