Saami skis from both sides of the Atlantic ?
This engraving dating appx 1600 shows a Norwegian Saami man on skis.
This models of Dorset skis was found in Nunguvik, on the west coast of Navy Board Inlet in Baffin Island, Canada by Father Guy Mary-Rousseliere. They are now being examined by Patricia Sutherland, Associate Curator at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Pre-Columbian skis has never been found in America before.
