Yasothon

    The smallest province in Isan, it was separated from Ubon Ratchathani province on March 1,1972. It holds the biggest    " Bun Bang Fai " Festival (a traditional Isan religious festival featuring the launching of locally made " rockets ".

    Phra That Kong Khao Noi Kha Mae or Phra That tat Thong

    An old rectangular brick pagoda in the middle of a field in Tambon Tat Thong, it has a mixed style of the old Laotian pagoda and the Lanna pagoda. The sandstone boundary markers bear no designs. From the history describing the immigration of the Laotian people from Vientiane to the area which is now Yasothon, there is evidence that this pagoda dates back to the 18th-19th century or the late Ayutthaya period.
