Fa Daet Song Yang
This large ancient town of the Dvaravati period (9 th -11th centuries), surrounded by an earth embankment and double moats, is located at Ban Sema in Tambon Nong Pan,Komalasai district,19 km. from the provincial town.
The town's plan as photographed from the air is similar in shape to a sema or a boundary marker so it is sometimes called Muang Sema. Fifteen ancient monuments have been excavated by Fine Arts Department ,the most important of which is Phra That Yaku where the old Dvaravati -style base can be seen. However , the monument itself has been renovated in a new style.
A large number of stone boundary markers have been discovered. they bear carvings of Buddha's life story and others. some of them have been removed to the Khon Kaen National Museum; others are kept at Phochai Semaram Temple in Fa Daet Song Yang, and the rest have been left buried where they were found.
