A missionary told an old Indian chief about Jesus Christ, describing to him that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. After all the sharing, the Indian chief responded, "The Jesus road is a good road. But I have followed the Indian road all my life, and I cannot change now."

A year later, the old Indian chief was dying and the missionary hurried to his side. When the missionary was there, he asked the missionary, "Can I turn to Jesus now? My own road stops here. It has no way through the valley!"

Yes, every road that a man walks in life ends at the grave. The roads of religion, wealth, charity, fame, education, technology and success can never take you through the valley of the shadow of death. Only the Jesus road can give you life, only the Jesus road can lead you through the valley of the shadow of death.

This is what Jesus said in the Bible. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Tonight, I am glad to share with you that our late (Name) had walked this "Jesus road" for many, many years. She was not only blessed by God but she had also blessed many members of her family. I understand that quite a number of her grandchildren are already walking this "Jesus road". I am also very encouraged to hear from her grandchildren that our late (Name) had dearly loved them. She had coached the grandchildren in their studies, brought them to church, taught them the Jesus way of life and encouraged them spiritually. Indeed, our late (Name) had invested her life on those she had loved and I believed she had lived her life meaningfully.

I am also glad to announce to you that our late (Name) had passed through the valley of shadow of death and she is now with the LORD. She had passed through this valley of shadow of death and has entered a place where there is no more sorrow, pain and illness. She has entered into her heavenly Father's house that Jesus has prepared for her.

By now our late (Name) has met God and has realized for sure that she had taken the correct road to eternal life. It would also be her earnest desire to see those whom she loves, walk this "Jesus road".

Being Chinese, we emphasize a lot on filial piety. Likewise, the Bible strongly commands Christians to honor their parents. Do you know that amongst the 10 commandments, only the commandment to honor parents comes with a promise? Here it shows the importance of honoring our parents.

If you claim to truly love our late (Name) and are filial, then you too will want to fulfil her earnest desire of wanting you to walk this "Jesus road" faithfully. Do you love (Name)? Would you then seriously consider walking this "Jesus road"?

Tonight, I also want you to know that this "Jesus road" to God is made possible through what Jesus had done on Calvary cross. Jesus had died a cruel death in order to pay the penalty of our sin. For the Bible tells us that, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (John 3:16-17)

Romans 6:23 also tells us that, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Through what Jesus had done, the power of death is destroyed and the "Jesus road" can lead to life. Let me illustrate.

A boy and his father were traveling in a car when a bee flew through the open window. The boy was so highly allergic to bee stings that both he and his father know that his life was in danger. As the boy frantically jumped and tried to avoid the agitated bee, the father calmly reached out and grabbed the bee. When he opened his hand, the bee began to fly again, terrifying the boy once again. The father holding up his hand with an implanted stinger, then said to the son, "Look son, his stinger is gone; he can't hurt you any longer."

As a bee loses its stinger when it stings, so death lost its sting when it stung Jesus. Death lost its sting when Jesus was pierced with those long nails that went through His wrist and feet. And that is the reason why our late (Name) could pass through the valley of the shadow of death to enter into God's presence. It was all because of Jesus. Would you tonight seriously consider walking this "Jesus road" and experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
