I grew up in a small town (pop. about 50,000) in Connecticut. I now live in Jerusalem, Israel with my family. I am a stay-at-home mother to four kids. My husband teaches Linguistics in the English Dept. at Hebrew University on Mount Scopus. I graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Computer Science. My interests include sewing, crocheting, e-mail, reading, and gardening. I also do volunteer work in breastfeeding support. I am working to bring support for the Nestl boycott to Israel.
Nestl has been repeatedly discovered to be in violation of the
WHO/UNICEF Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. Immoral
marketing practices result in the death of one and a half million babies a
year. Please boycott all Nestl's products. In Israel,
this includes all products produced by Osem, which is owned in large part
by Nestl. Click
here for
information about boycotted products in Israel. |
This picture shows a Pakistani mother of twins. She was misinformed that she would not be able to breastfeed both babies; therefore she breastfed the boy and bottle fed the girl. Her daughter died the day after the photograph was taken; her son thrived. |
