Week 3: Raiders vs Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are quite possibly the worst team in Tecmo Super Bowl. Their defense is the game's worst, and the offense isn't much better. QB Jeff George couldn't hit the broad side of a aircraft carrier, and their best player is a running back with a meager 44 MS. Never mind Albert Bentley's 63 receptions rating; he won't be getting anything thrown to him anyway. So all in all, I shouldn't have any trouble with these nimrods seeing how I defeated 2 teams that are surely better.

1st Quarter

On the first play, Howie Long buries Jeff George for an 8 yard loss. The Colts then follow it up with a Ivy Joe Hunter fumble (unfortunately, Bentley bails him out) and a punt. Bo Jackson seizes the opportunity with a 25 yard reception and a 25 yard run for a TD. The Colts' bumbling doesn't stop there as George throws a pick to Mike Harden. However, I answer with a pick of my own to Taylor.

2nd Quarter

Ellison and Davis get in consecutive sacks before sending George to the hospital. Of course, this means the Colts get an upgrade at quarterback, but Jack Trudeau

Usually, it's bad thing when you're starting quarterback is like this...

...And for even the Colts, it's no different.
still manages to throw 2 interceptions to L. Washington. After the first one Bo scores another TD. However, I went 3-and-out and Jeff Jaeger missed a short field goal attempt after the second put me at the Indy 25. Meanwhile, the Colts complete their first pass just before halftime.

Halftime Raiders 14, Colts 0

My defense is dominating these poor schmucks with 3 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 1 destroyed QB. Unfortunately, my offense, despite scoring twice, isn't looking as good as usual. I missed a couple of opportunities to run up the score on them, but I'm not worried. I mean, this is the Colts.

3rd Quarter

Bo started the half with a 68 yard run and a 21 yard touchdown. My defensive ownage continued with another Ellison sack and another interception by Harden. Then I drive down the field and Jeff Jaeger actually does something usefull and makes a field goal to end the quarter. Now I'm actually starting to feel sorry for the Colts..

Having fun yet, Jack?

The caption under this scene should have read "Doh!"

4th Quarter

Bentley suddenly woke up, running once for 13 yards before Biasucci's botched field goal attempt. Harvey Armstrong gave the Colts their 2nd sack and brought me to 3rd and long before Mervyn Fernandez bailed me out with a big reception for the 2nd time today. Smith finishes off the drive with a 5 yard run TD, his 2nd TD of the season. Bentley drives the Colts down the field for one last attempt for a score, but they fall short in the end.
Final

Well, I actually did get to run up the score in the second half. The defense kept pouring it on and the offense got better as the game went on. Okay I know it's only the Indianapolis Colts, but I beat them 31-0! That should mean something!\

Player of the Game: L Washington and Mike Harden
Both had 2 interceptions each

Their 2 interceptions each was a major reason for my defensive dominance, so I had to give it to both of them. Harden and Washington are the weaker half of the secondary, but today they came through big for us.
