| According to the game, Shadow isn't the original ultimate life form but was the first one; which was made to benefit mankind one day. Only when his creator - Prof. Gerald Robotnik - became insane with anger and revenge did he create the ultimate life form that would destroy and torture mankind. Codenamed "Shadow" it was thought the hedgehog was the second life form but isn't. The real second ultimate life form - though it's only a prototype - is the Biolizard. He can get caught in being the ultimate life form often but somehow doesn't let it get in the way of his tasks. His main task is he wants to fulfill his promise he made to Maria Robotnik (of whom he has faint memories); to make all the people on Earth happy. But he forgot this was what he promised her, for a long while he thought he promised her revenge for her death. It wasn't until Amy jumped in and reminded him what Maria said by repeating the girl's exact words (what an odd coincidence). Shadow then left and aided Sonic in defeating the Biolizard before he destroyed the Earth. In doing so he sacrificed his life, saying with his final breath, "Maria...this is what you wanted right? This is my promise I made to you..." (*tear* @_@). But before he "switched sides" Eggman had freed him from a capsule in a military base after Shadow was imprisoned for 50 years. The confused hedgehog used his alliance with Rouge (I think he and Rouge liked each other, duh) and Eggman to activate the Eclipse Cannon with the Chaos Emeralds so they could take over the world. Somehow the humans on Earth mistook Shadow for being Sonic (how?) so the world hero got thrown in prison; that's what sparked their rivalry. Then stuff happened and like it says up there, Amy was responsible for making him one of the good guys for a bit. Both Rouge and Amy reminded him of Maria throughout the game for one reason or another so if you play it keep an eye out for that. When in possession of one Chaos Emerald, Shadow can use it to perform the Chaos Control where he can teleport from one place to another. This move can only be used by Shadow and Sonic. When he has all seven of the gems he becomes Super Shadow (most refer to this form as "Hyper Shadow" which he would've been if the Emeralds were in their "super" forms, but since they were not, he's technically supposed to be called "Super Shadow"). Like all the super-forms, he's invincible and can only maintain it with enough ring power. Shadow does come back in the game Sonic Heroes but he has a case of amnesia and doesn't know how he survived his battle against the Biolizard. He creates another team called "Team Dark" at this time and sets out to find out how he survived his final fight and why Dr. Robotnik imprisoned him in a capsule... |
