Initiative Rolls

An Initiative Roll is made each time a new battle begins. This roll is used to determine which side reacts quicker to the situation. Each side rolls 1 20 sided dice. The side with the higher roll attacks first.

Note: In quests the GM rolls the dice for both sides. In duels each combatant is usually allowed to make his own initiative roll.

Attacks Per Turn

Physical Weapons

A character may attack 4 times per turn with any physical weapon or combination of physical weapons. A player must be careful to use the correct bonus's if multiple weapons of different types are used in the same round.

Example 1: Sally's character has a Broad Sword and 2 Throwing Daggers.
She decides to swing her sword 4 times.
She has a bonus of +6 when useing Melee weapons.
Sally rolls 4 d20+6 for the sword strikes.

Example 2: Sally's character has a Broad Sword and 2 Throwing Daggers.
She decides to swing her sword 2 times and throw both of her daggers.
She has a bonus of +6 when useing Melee weapons and a bonus of +4 with Ranged weapons.
Sally rolls 2 d20+6 for the sword strikes
Then 2 d20+4 for the daggers.

Spells

A character may cast any 2 spells per round.

Example 1: Sally's character has the spells Fire and Confusion.
She has a bonus of +6 with Spells.
She decides to cast Fire twice.
Sally rolls 2 d20+6 to BBQ her enemy.

Example 1: Sally's character has the spells Fire and Confusion.
She has a bonus of +6 with Spells.
She decides to cast Fire once and Confusion once.
Sally rolls 2 d20+6 to Confuse then BBQ her enemy.

Physical Attacks and Spell Casting in the Same Round

A character may cast a spell and attack with a physical weapon in the same round. He may cast 1 spell and attack 2 times with his weapon. A player must be careful to use the correct bonus's. His skill with weapons may be better than his skill with spells or vice versa.

Example: Sally's character has a Broad Sword and a Fire spell.
She decides to cast Fire once then swings her sword twice.
She has a bonus of +6 with Melee weapons and a bonus of +2 with Spells.
Sally rolls 1 d20+2 for the Spell
Then 2 d20+6 for the sword strikes.
