What the heck is EarthBound?

EarthBound is a great Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super NES) RPG which had more than your average RPG. With underrated graphics and innovation, EarthBound also had enemies like aliens, robots, crazed hippies, cops and more! The story is about the adventures of a teenage boy named Ness who was destined to save the world. The game also had comedy, jazz music, bathrooms and replaced swords and sorcery with baseball bats and PSI (psychic power). If you want to buy the game, then you might wanna go to a used video game emporium, a garage sale or bid for it on eBay. It's a fun game and a must have for RPG fans! :)
Here is a brief history:

1989- In Japan, Nintendo, HAL Laboratoy, and APE Software Development team get together in a big project, headed by Shigesato Itoi, the creator of EarthBound. They release the game as Mother and it is a HUGE success.

1989-90- Nintendo of America starts translating Mother and they decide to call it EarthBound. They announce it to be released in 1991 for the NES.

1991- Nintendo of America says, "Gee, Itoi-san made a great game but there is a new 16-bit system in development that will be released soon. And look at those graphics, with the hype of the Super NES, it will be nearly forgotten! Even if people do buy it, I bet they won't like it." Note that Nintendo didn't really use those exact words, but yeah, EarthBound for the NES was cancelled.

1993-94- Itoi-san does it again! Mother 2 is released in Japan for the Super Famicom and is another success.

1994-95- Nintendo of America translates Mother 2 as EarthBound and release it for the Super NES. Unfortunetly, EarthBound doesn't sell well (curse that advertising slogan).

1996- Itoi plans out Mother 3 for the N64.

Summer 2000- Mother 3/EarthBound 64 is cancelled.

Summer 2002- EarthBound is rumored to be coming out for GameBoy Advance. The evidence of this is almost concrete! Mother 3 Petition is still going on Starmen.Net.

Fall 2002- EGM has evidence that Mother 3 might come to GameBoy Advance, not the GameCube.

2003- As we enter a new year, only time will tell if there will be another EarthBound game. But hey, keep your chin up; Benimaru DID say at a Super Smash Bros. Melee Symphony Orchestra concert that Mother 3 is going to happen. I'm Ness, and I'm... signing off!
