Prologue: What A Great Birthday!

"Andrea Rae Marsiglio!"

Andrea rolled over in her sleep, but to find, she wasn't even on a bed, she was on the floor. She didn't even have a blanket to cover her on the cold February day.

She stood up out of bed, slowly, and started to walk out of her room. She bumped into something on the way out. "Ouch!" she exclaimed.

"Andrea, get down here, now!"

She came out of her dark room and saw the little curly red-haired boy that she lived with along with 3 other kids.

"You're gonna get it," he spoke.

"Shut up, Robbie," she started to walk down the steps.

"So there you are, you lazy girl," her foster mother, Mrs. Polinski, yelled at her like she did everyday.

"Hello, Mrs. Polinski," she looked at the clock, "What do you want? It's after midnight."

"That's right, and isn't today your birthday?"

"Yeah, I'm 18 today."

"Oh, so you're 18?"

"Yes, so?"

"So, it's time for you to go find a new place to live."

"What? I thought we agreed to let me stay until school was done."

"I changed my mind. You don't do any work in this house, so, you're going tonight."

"I do more work than you do everyday."

"Don't give me any lip, you bitch!" she slapped her face with the closest thing she could find, a kitchen knife.

Blood started to stream down her cheek as she yelled, "What'd you do that for?"

"You've gotta learn to shut up when you are told. Now, get your stuff. I won't let you stay a minute longer."

Andrea went upstairs and saw Robbie again, "Oh, did you cut yourself?"

Andrea gave him a nasty stare and turned on the light switch in her room. All of her furniture was gone and all that was left was a bag of clothes, another bag with all her other stuff, and a $50 bill on the floor. She grabbed it and headed out the door to Mrs. Polinski yelling to her, "You're going straight to hell, Andrea. Straight to hell!"
