Chapter 31

Mandie ran after Cass. Her long legs took her far and she grabbed Cass's arm, "What the fuck was that about...I try to save you and you don't fucking respect that in any way!" Mandie yelled at her drawing a small crowd. Cass could tell Mandie was pissed because of the yellow her eyes turned when she was pissed.

"Mandie, you don't need to be involved in my little dilemma okay? Just let me go!" Cass pulled her arm away, yanking Mandie practically on the ground.

"That's it Cass, come with me," Mandie tried to catch up with her again but her eyes didn't soften at all when she saw where Cass was heading. The Eiffel Tower. Her breathing grew faster and faster... she pulled out her cell and called Lance.

"Hello?" his deep voice answered.

"Babe I think she's gonna jump."

"What are you talking about?"

"She's headed to the Eiffel Tower."

"Try and stop her. I'm on my way."

"Cass? What the hell do you think you're doing?" Mandie yelled to Cass, who was at least 50 feet away from her and reaching the elevator of the tower.

"Leave me alone Mandie! You can't help me!" Cass yelled back, running onto the elevator.

"Cass, you get off that elevator or I'll-"

"You'll what?" Cass spat back as the elevator doors closed.

Mandie saw the stairs and had no choice she ran up them skipping at least two steps every time she stepped she had to get up to her. She felt her legs becoming tired and she was out of breath... but nothing would stop her... Cass was her best friend and she had to do everything she could to get to her before she did anything she would regret.

When Mandie finally reached the top of the tower, she collapsed onto the floor, the spectators gasping at what they saw before them, but quickly blew it off. Mandie got up, running around the ring of the tower, searching for Cass, but not finding her. Mandie let out a painful cry, her best friend had killed herself.

But in reality, Cass was hiding from everything.

She fell down thinking that her best friend had died and began to cry. She didn't care who saw her she only wept for her friend.

She felt a big pair of hands grab her shoulders... "Are you gonna cooperate with me, Mademoiselle Monroe?"

Mandie quickly turned around, "Whwhwho are you?" she cried out in uneasy breaths.

"Your worst nightmare," the woman replied, playing with the sunglasses, snickering to herself, "I see you friend has um, moved on."

"Fuck you lady!" she exclaimed, pulling away from the woman, her tears freely flowing down her face, "You don't know how much she meant to me!"

"Oh yes I do," the woman took her glasses off and Mandie made the biggest surprised face of her life.

"MMMom!" she said in shock and tried to walk away.

"Of course its me, hunny," she said evilly.

"Get away from me," she said quietly.

"Now is that the sort of thing you say to your mother, ugly duckling?"

"Mom, stay away from me, I don't want to speak to you," Mandie started to cry even more now, "You just magically show up in Paris, my best friend kills herself jumping off the fucking Eiffel Tower, what else can go wrong?"

"Honey, you've been asked to come home, we miss our little ugly duckling, we want you back at home where these big, bad cameras won't scar your face any worse," she replied, smiling her big evil smile again.

"Leave me the fuck alone," she said scared for her life. Another pair of hands grabbed her shoulder.

"Your mother said you are to come home with us, ugly duckling, now come on."

"Why are you doing this...? You are my parents...you're not supposed to scare me," she cried out.

"Shut up ugly slut," her father grabbed her from the waist picking her up.

"Let me down!" Mandie screamed and Cass's head perked from her depressed position and she ran out.

"Let her down!" Mandie heard a strong, young, feminine yell from behind her and she tried to turn herself around to make sure she was correct in her assumption, but she already knew who it was.

"Ja..." her father covered her mouth.

"Hello Miss Cass Dalyhow are you?"

"Maybe you didn't hear me the first time. Put her down!" she said through her gritted teeth.

"Cassthis is our daughter and we are taking her home so she doesn't ruin the cameras or make the dresses she wears look bad," her mother replied coming up behind Mandie's dad.

"I can't believe you're not proud of your own daughter for fulfilling her lifelong dream!" Cass yelled, trying not to let her tears of her own grief fall, but she didn't have to worry about herself, she had a bigger problem to deal with, "You are both pathetic!"

"Man, you were probably the ugly duckling as well, huh, Cass?" her mother yelled at her, practically stabbing her with words, "Yeah you were huh? Carson was a much more beautiful person than you ever were. Why the hell were you even born?"

By this time Mandie's dad had disappeared with Mandie.

"Fuck you," Cass yelled.

"Well have a nice day Cass," she started to walk away but she saw him walking towards her, "Michael, what are you doing? You're supposed to be waiting down at the bottom for me!"

"I would but these guys approached me and she bit me and ran to them, Maria."

"Why would guys want Mandie?" Maria laughed.

"Because I'm in love with her," Lance replied gently, holding onto Mandie's fragile body tightly, afraid to let her go.

"How can you be in love with that...thing?" Maria asked harshly and Mandie felt more tears stinging.

"How can you be parents? You don't even love your child!" Lance yelled in Mandie's defense.

"We do love her," Maria yelled out.

"Bull shit...I'm sorry, but calling her ugly her whole life is not love," Lance almost screamed.

"Well it's the truth," Michael said in almost a yell.

"Noit isn'tMandie is the most wonderful and beautiful creature I have ever met!"

Mandie's parents cracked up, "Are you blind or something?" Maria laughed out.

"No, I'm not blind, I can see fine!" Lance yelled back to her parents, who he was ashamed to even meet.

"Well, you're mistaken, little boy, because you haven't even seen near beautiful around these two girls for so long," Michael replied to Lance.

"Fuck you! I can't believe you would say that about your own flesh and blood!" Lance yelled back in defense.

"You know, with your god damn mouth, I don't think I want our ugly daughter around you," Michael said in almost a yell.

"Yah well you know what, dad...you are not in no way going to pull me away from the love of my life!" Mandie said cuddling into Lance's strong arms.

"Mandie, let go of him...you are coming with us," Michael said quietly but in anger.

"No, I'll never let go! And you can't go off insulting my best friend like that either! You're going to pay for that, you ungrateful, horrible people!" she yelled back to them, "Right Cass? Cass?"

But she wasn't up there anymore. She was gone.

"Hunny where's Cass?" Mandie panicked.

"Don't worry...I sent her to get the bodyguards and Justin," he whispered lightly into her ear.

"Mandie, let go of the poor boy and come with us," her mother said loudly.

"Fuck you mom! I don't need you, come on Lance, let's go back to the hotel," Mandie replied and they started to walk to the elevator. Maria and Michael just stared at the lovely couple as they left their site.
