Chapter 28

Cass flopped herself on the bed, and felt a strong fatigue fall over her. She didn't fall asleep, even though she wanted to. She heard a light knock at the door. She thought she was dreaming, but in fact she got up from the bed and opened the door to Justin's face and he started to say, "Mandie said to come down in an hour but-" and she silenced him with her jumping up into his arms and kissing him passionately.

They slowly pulled away, "What was that for...and where's Mandie?"

"She didn't go back up to the Penthouse?"

"No why?"

"She ran out of here after I told her something awful."

"What did you say to her?" he gave her a serious eye but she thought it was a playful, flirty face.

"Oh, you are so damn hot," Cass smiled as she leaned up and kissed him again. Now Justin was clearly confused. He pushed her away, "What's the matter Justin? Don't you like me?"

"I do but..."

"But what?"

"I asked you a question...what did you say to Mandie to make her leave?" Justin stood up.

"Justin, why does that matter?" Cass said seductively and it was hard for Justin to keep his cool. She ran her finger up and down his chest, taunting him and he took a loud gulp, "Come on, you supposedly love me, right?"

"Cass, stop it," he replied, brushing her hand away, "What did you say to make Mandie leave?"

"I'm making a complete fool of myself... she lied to me you don't like me."

"Yes Cass I do...I just wanna know what you said to her," Justin sat down next to her.

"I told her the only reason she is dating Lance is for his money and the publicity."

"Cass, that was just wrong of you, you know you can hurt Mandie really easily," Justin told her sternly, "She's your best friend, why would you want to hurt her like that?"

"I don't know why, Justin, but this is a dream, there are supposed to be no problems in a dream, why are you bringing this up?"

Justin gave her a weird smirk, "A dream? You think this is a dream?"

"You mean it isn't?"

"Not that I know," Justin stood up, "Did I come at a bad time?"

"Shit, what have I done?" she muttered to herself and fell on the bed, "Justin, you can feel free to shoot me now. What I just did, disregard that."

"Cass, don't tell me that kiss meant nothing to you, because that meant something to me," Justin said gently, standing in the same position. "And I can't just disregard a kiss that meant a lot to me."

"I'm sorry Justin...I'm feeling so weirdits just" Cass said.

Justin put his finger to her lips, "Shh...we need to find Mandie."

"Justin?" Cass told him, looking towards him shyly.

"What?" Justin replied.

"I'm sorry about that before, I didn't mean it," Cass spit out of her mouth, not really meaning it.

"I wish you did mean it," he said pulling her off the bed and heading to the door.

*Meanwhile*

When Mandie arrived at the agency she paid the taxi driver and walked in to find a young lady sitting at the desk, "May I help you?" the lady said.

"Yes, I need to see Jenette Fortilli," Mandie said a little nervous.

"Ok down the hall and to the right is her office...Mandie Korea Monroe right?"

"Yeah," she smiled at the girl and started off to the office.

Mandie took deep breaths as she walked down the hall. She hoped she was making the right decision about not accepting the job. And what Cass said about her still hung strong in her mind. Cass would never say something like that unless Cass was seriously confused about something. But why would she be confused about love?

"Mademoiselle Monroe?" she heard Jenette call from her office and Mandie took a deep gulping breath and walked into her office.

"Hello, Miss Fortlli," she said with a bright smile.

"What brings you here?...I was expecting a call."

"Yah I know...ex-boyfriend troubles," Mandie sat down in a leather chair, "I wanted to talk to you about the job offer."

"Yes?" her face lit up.

"Well, I'm sorry if it may inconvenience you at the time, but I'm afraid I can't except the offer to work here," Mandie said coolly.

"Miss Monroe, are you sure?" Miss Fortilli's face fell slightly.

"I have an enormous responsibility to uphold at home, I'm sorry," Mandie sat tight in her chair, wondering how she would reply.

"Well, would you consider it later...I mean we can send you to Milan in 2 months if you're ready," she responded.

"I might...give me a call...you have my number," Mandie shook Jenette's hand ant got up to walk to the door.

"And Miss Monroe, one more thing, please?" Jenette called back to her before she walked out.

"Yes?" Mandie turned her head around in wonder.

"How long exactly will you be in Paris?" she asked standing up.

"I dunno, it wasn't a planned vacation," Mandie laughed.

"Do you think you can to a shoot tomorrow morning for Paris Gucci...because I know you are with Gucci in the states."

"Sure, if we stay that long," Mandie replied and smiled, walking out of the door.
