3 years later
Raven came home from her job, tired and disheveled. She was now head manager at the local TGI Fridays and she loved her job. She was a good chef and it was better than working for assistant of *NSYNC. Those little brats. They never really liked her.
Thats because she was very truthful. And she would always tell everyone the whole truth about what they did.
She cleared up some of her bills and sat down on the couch, sipping on a glass of milk that she had gotten out before. She was not as pale as she was a year ago. She had toned up a while. And her eyes were happier.
She was happier.
She had made the right decision.
She never thought she had made the wrong one.
She heard a knock at the door and sighed, letting her head hang over the edge of the couch, I knew I wouldnt get peace for long.
She got up, sluggishly and walked towards the door, opening it and seeing 2 enthusiastic faces.
Ethan! Raven yelled, taking the little boy into her arms, his little arms hugging her tightly.
Yeah, hi to you, too, her friend, AnnaMarie, gave her a weird little smile, crossing her arms at her.
Oh Anna May, you know I love you, too, Raven stated and directed her attention to the little boy in her arms, But not as much as my little man!
I love you too mommy, he stated and wrapped his little arms around her again.
And you thought terrible twos would come, that childs an angel, AnnaMarie stated, smiling at the mother and daughter, Well Ive got to be getting out now. Ill see you Tuesday!
Yeah bye! she stated as AnnaMarie headed to her car and Raven shut the door behind her.
So Ethan, she put her little boy down on the floor and he looked up at her tentatively, What do you want to do?
Watch Blues Clues! he yelled excitedly, running away and sitting about 5 feet away from the television, Please mommy! Please?
Okay, she sighed and smiled at her son, grabbing the Blues Clues DVD out of the box and popping it in the DVD player.
As he was playing along with the show, the phone started ringing. Raven looked at it strangely when the caller ID said it was an unlisted number. She picked up the phone and said, Hello?
Raven?
She went in shock when she heard his voice. It was JC. After 3 years, he had finally decided to check on her. To see if she was okay. To see if she even thought of doing anything worse than what she did.
Like she would ever think of doing something so horrible.
It wasnt even an option now. She had a son, she wouldnt even think of leaving him.
JC? Is that you? she said quietly, her past fears flooding her mature, grown-up body. She was once again that fragile, 25-year old she was 3 years ago.
She promised herself that would never return. Only if JC called again.
Yeah, how are you doing? he said to her, his sternness returning from his gentle, loving tone.
He wasnt about to show Raven he cared. No matter how much she wanted him to.
Im doing okay, she said quietly again, trying not to let her son hear her weakness.
Mommy! He found a clue! Ethan squealed out happily as he pointed at the TV screen.
Ethan, be quiet! Mommy is on the phone! Raven scolded him, covering the receiver with her hand.
Youre a mother? JC said surprised and shocked. Raven didnt seem like a suitable mother to him, even though she was pregnant with their child for 2 months 3 years ago.
Yes, Ethan Joshua, Raven smiled happily into the receiver.
Whos the father? he asked suspiciously, not wanting to push his limits, but he knew he was.
He wanted to know who impregnated her again.
He thought she didnt deserve a child.
No matter how nice she was or how much she thought she deserved one.
Why, Mr. Chasez! she yelled sarcastically into the phone, walking into the hallway so her son would not hear her, Are you actually concerned for me?
No, JC said sternly, wanting to just bang his head into the wall, If you dont mind, Id like to know who the father of little Ethan is.
Raven took a deep breath and looked at her face. Her eyes were watered with tears. She always got emotional when she talked to JC. She didnt want to go through hell again like she did when he impregnated her.
Well- she took another deep breath and looked away from the mirror. It would be hard any way, even if she didnt tell him directly.
Was she wrong in telling him who the real father of Ethan was?
