Friday - September 29 - Sunday - October 1 - Public Lands Day at Lake Mendocino

Come join us on this annual Puhlic Lands Day activity as we work with the Army Corps of Engineers ranger staff this year at Lake Mendocino near Ukiah.  We will be working on a variety of maintenance projects.  The Army Corps of Engineers will be providing a free lunch on Saturday.  $20 registration to include two nights camping and, two meals on Saturday, and Sunday breakfast plus campfire snacks.

Friday - October 13 - Sunday - October 15 - Eastman Lake Geospatial Project and Campout

This will be the kick off for the 2006 - 2007 school year for the continuing geospatial project at Eastman Lake in Madera County.  This is a project that we have been using GPS units to collect data points to be inputted into GIS software for use in the managment of the Park by ranger staff.  $15 registation fee to include two nights camping, three meals on Saturday and Sunday breakfast.

Wednesday - December 27 - Saturday - December 30 - KWEST Communicaitons Workshop at Foothill High School in Sacramento

This workshop and one unit Merritt College class is designed to assist KWEST and other high school student leaders involved in watershed projects to better communicate and acquire financial support from the community and to recruit and manage student volunteers.  We will also be visiting the State Capitol to conduct outreach to key legislators and their staff.   Registration fee $35 to include three nights lodging at Foothill High School and six meals.

Friday - February 16 - Monday - February 19 - KWEST Introduction to GIS/GPS Workshop at Wilcox High School in Santa Clara

This workshop and one unit Merritt College class is designed to assist KWEST and other high school student leaders involved in watershed project to use geospatial technology in the planning and management of projects.  Students will learn the basics of GPS units and ArcView 3.3 and Arc Spatial Analyst software.  Registration fee $20 to include three nights lodgining at Wilcox High School and eight meals.
