| Radiohead Vs. U2 |

| The Question is not which has the most hits and albums cuz that obviously goes to U2. The question is, who is the better band? Stats: U2- Biggest tour in the world, supporting album they released almost 2 years ago. Radiohead- Touring on and Off, Released 2 full length albums and a Live album in the last year and a half. U2- album went multi-platinum and hit number 1. Radiohead- Both albums hit number 1 and new live album is doing well. Past Strong albums: U2- Achtung Baby!, War, Joshua Tree. Radiohead- Ok Computer, The Bends, Kid A. U2 has been playing an almost unchanging rock for the last 20 years. While radiohead has drastically changed from Creep/The bends to Ok computer to the current albums. Radiohead shows sell out all the time when they tour. If radiohead toured as much as U2 they probably would be around them in ticket sales. Conclusion: I would have to say that Radiohead wins this Battle. They have transformed themselves multiple times with much success. When U2 tried this on Zooropa they quickly lost sales and interest. Looking back U2 has more successful albums, in the long run they will probably be seen as the better band, unless radiohead releases 5 strong albums in the future which is difficult. Winner: Radiohead is currently the best band in the world. |
