This Month's Featured Power Players:
We have several potential power players in our Nintendo club, the Bowser Beaters, but we nominate Ray "Machine Gun" Ricardo as our top player. He was the first to conquer Top Gun and Top Gun 2, which is how Ray earned his nickname. He also owns the best score in Duck Hunt, with 6,515,530 points. Ray has conquered Super Mario Brothers 1 and 2 without time warps, and saved Princess Zelda in four days. His favorite games are Cybernoid and Rygar. Ray wants to get a job as a Nintendo Counselor.

Keep up the good work, guys. We'd love to hear some game tips from Ray!
I would like to recongnize Max Marcello as a power player. He is a member of the Code Blue Nintendo Squadron, which is the Nintendo club on my street. Max conquered Metroid in two days, Dragon Power in four, spy Hunter in three hours, and Super Mario Brothers 2 in a mere 44 mnutes. (Without warping, of course.)
Max says that the secret to his growing success is to "practice every day and always keep a positive attitude." Max is currently working on the second Quest of Zelda, and is looking forward to the release of Bad Dudes.

Excellent, Jimmy! We will add Max to the NP Hall of Fame. You may get there someday yourself, if you follow Max's advise. Keep it up!
I am probably the best player in New York state at the Super Mario Brothers trilogy. In   Mario 1, I can beat worlds 1 through 8 without warping and without dying. I have scored 999,999 points in Mario 1 twice. I conquered Wart in Mario Brothers 2 in 49 minutes, 15 seconds, without warping. I beat Bowser and his children in 10 straight hours of non-stop gaming in Mario 3. I think I know every secret there is to the game! Because of my talent, I think I should be named "Grand Imperial Wizard and Overlord of All Power Players in the Mario Brothers Trilogy."

That's great Billy, but Mario's Princess is in another castle!
I feel that my best friend, Jon-Jon Fredritch, should be recognized as a power player, not because of his talent, but because of all the NES accessories he owns. John got the NES Power Set (with Mario/Duck Hunt/Track and Field and the power pad) for his 9th birthday. He now owns 41 games, the NES Advantage, the Power Glove, 3 Robotic Operating Buddies, a three Light Zappers (red, orange and grey,) the Laser Scope, NES Satellite, four regular controllers and 2 turbo controllers, Game Genie, the Quick Shot, Joystick Docking Bay, and Miracle Teaching Piano System. Jon-Jon saves his allowance to buy a new nintendo brand accessory each month, with some left over to call the Nintendo counselors. He has used his accessories to conquer 34 or his games, including Rygar, Double Dragon, Tyson's Punch Out, Gyromite, Gotcha! and Supercars. (All without Game Genie.)

It looks like Jon-Jon owns 75% of the ROB's in existance. The Red Light Gun is special. Since only five were everr made, they were placed in random boxes for the NES Power set. Anyone who finds a Red Light Gun in their NES box wins free admission to Willy Wonka's Game Pak Factory!
