This little guy is life sized, with a 1 foot wingspan, and he's almost
a foot tall.
I'll add to this site as he gets further along in the stages of creation.
So far to date (to 1-5-01), I've spent 10 and a half hours on the sculpting
alone.
And I did it all in a night and a day, stopping only to eat and sleep.
Once I get him fired, I'll paint him.
It's tempting to raku, but I'd like to detail this peice a little more.
Here's some pics of the earliest stages, come back to see progress!
He had to be trussed up with string and cloth and newspaper to keep
his wings from moving while they dried (two nights).
After I tentatively removed the strings and such...
Unfortunately, his right foot had separated before it dried, so I'll
have to glue it after he's fired.
Here's his foot...
I had an unfortunate accident... ARG!
