OFFICERS’ DUTIES Illustrious Commander and Chief The Illustrious Commander-in-Chief (CIC) Duties He is to open and preside at all meetings of the Consistory, to have the custody of the Charter and rituals, to enforce strict conformity to the Constitution and General Regulations of the United Supreme Council, to adhere to these Constitutions and By- laws, to ensure that the ritualistic ceremonies are duly observed and enforced, to supervise the duties of all Consistory officers and ensure that the Ill. Secretary and Treasurer comply with the established administrative procedures adopted by the Consistory, to sign all approved warrant drawn on the treasury, to appoint all appointed officers and committees, and give the casting vote in case of a tie . The Illustrious 1st Lt. Commander's Duties: He is to assume the duties of the Ill CIC in the CIC's absence. In addition, he performs other duties at the direction of the CIC. The Illustrious 2nd Lt. Commander's Duties: He is to assume the duties of the Ill CIC in the CIC's and 1st Lt. Commander's absence. In addition, he performs other duties at the direction of the CIC. The Illustrious Secretary/Keeper of the Seal and Archives' (KOS&A) Duties: He is to receive, record, and pass on to the Ill. Treasurer all monies and financial receipts paid or turned into this Consistory in accordance with the adopted administrative procedures approved by the Council of Deliberation. He will comply strictly with the provisions applicable to the Secretary stated in the Constitution and General Regulations of the United Supreme Council. He will maintain a record of all initiations, rejections, affiliations, and demits of applicants and members of this Consistory, He will maintain a list of all properties that was issued or purchased for this Consistory and bodies of the Rite. He will maintain a record of members in good standing and submit required reports to the United Supreme Council and the Deputy of the Orient. The Illustrious Treasurer's Duties: He is to receive from the KOS&A all monies and receipts paid to the Consistory giving him receipt for the same. He will keep a record showing receipts and expenditures in accordance with the adopted administrative procedures approved by the Council of Deliberation which will be at all times open to the Consistory for inspection by its finance committee. He will deposit all monies belonging to the bodies of the Rite in this Valley in a designated financial institution. Upon election of his successor, he will promptly deliver all books and property of this Consistory in his possession to his successor and submit a complete statement of accounts to date to the finance committee. The Illustrious Minister of State and Grand Orator's Duties: He is to see that the general rules and regulations of this Consistory are faithfully observed and obeyed. He is to be ex-officio chairman of the Constitution and By-law's Committee and report on the affairs of the Consistory as deemed necessary by the CIC. He will give lectures during the advancement ceremonies. The Illustrious Prior's Duties: He is to provide spiritual guidance for the Consistory. He will officiate at the altar of the Consistory while in session, lead devotion services, and perform such other duties as required. The Illustrious Chancellor’s Duties: He is to advise the consistory on matters relative to the transactions of fraternal business. He is to attend correspondence with all fraternal organizations that relate to members or functions of this Consistory, except those reserved for the CIC and the KOS&A. The Illustrious Hospitalor's Duties: He is to collect and recommend the dispensation of charity to needy individuals, families, and members of this Consistory. He is to work in conjunction with the Ill. Prior to send appropriate greetings, flowers, or a token to members of this Consistory or their families during their unfortunate circumstances and report the same to the Consistory at large. He will collect charity at each regular meeting and maintain a written account thereof as prescribed in the adopted administrative accounting procedures. The Illustrious Master of Ceremonies' Duties: He is to instruct the members on how to enter and depart the Chambers of this Consistory. He will conduct all visitors and escort Grand Inspectors General and Dignitaries. He will conduct Knights during advancement and perform all other duties as assigned or directed by the CIC. The Illustrious Standard Bearer's Duties: He is to take charge of the Standard (Banner) of the Order, seeing that it is preserved and transmitted to his successor in office or in the Consistory. He is to illustrate the respective degrees of the camps to the Knights during advancement. He is to assist the Master of Ceremonies and the Captain of the Guard in their duties. The Illustrious Engineer and Architect's Duties: He is to secure and display the property of this Consistory prior to opening and after closing. He is to assist the Captain of the Guard in his duties. The Illustrious Captain of the Guard's Duties: He is to take charge of the Camps during the absence of the 1ST and 2nd Lt. Commanders. He is to collect the watchword from the CIC. He is to instruct members how to get through the Camps. He is to assist the Master of Ceremonies during advancements. The Illustrious Sentinel's Duties: He is to maintain a faithful watch over the outer door. he is to report all visitors to the Captain of the Guard once the Consistory is in session. He is to assist the Master of Ceremonies during advancements.
