I have an awareness of self at the level of "human being" because the cells that make-up this organized level of self-awareness are all (mostly all) aware of themselves, and have a "higher" awareness and belief of that awareness that they are all part of, and controlled by, the "human being" level of self.
This is a result of interaction with self-similar organizations of cells as other "human beings", and also with non-self-similar organizations (being parts of existence that are beyond some threshold of being considered self-similar; for purposes of contrast). This "imprints" a structural pathway image of reality and truth to follow (and believe in) upon "my" cells.
This "imprinting" is communication; of ideas, beliefs, a transfer of truth as "energy" which keeps everything hot/alive. See "excited" molecules conforming to the pathway of "fire" as the cells conforming to the pathway of a person. The fire exists by attempting to, and then succeeding in, transferring its surroundings to be self-similar to itself... self is all one, existence is all one.
