Sayings

No one knows how bad he is until he has tried to be good. We find contentment when we stop looking for it. A handful of patience is worth more than a bashful of brains. It is a great ability to be able to hide one's ability. Prayer is and remains always a native and the deepest impulse of the soul of man. It is better to wear out than to rust out. Hope is a good breakfast, but it is a bad supper. If one must die, it is better to die doing some good.

Reading the Bible without reflecting is like eating without chewing. He who goes out of his house in search of happiness runs after a shadow. Our pain can be our gain. A small spark makes a great fire. Some days must be dark and dreary. Faults are thick where love is thin. It is easy to make a good fire of another man's wood. Take things always by the smooth handle.

A barking dog seldom bites. Have a place for everything and have everything in its place. Things left undone today are the burden of tomorrow. Constant practice makes perfect. A winner never quits, A quitter never wins. Stars are not always the sign of good weather.
