Europe 2000!!! - l'Île de la Cité

Nôtre Dame is located on an island in the middle of Paris. That island, called l'Île de la Cité (the Island of the City), is surrounded by the river Seine, and there are many bridges or, "ponts", connecting the two sides of the river.

Oh, and, someone didn't like one of the pictures of themselves, so I had to retouch it using my expert retouching skills in Photoshop. I bet that you can't tell which one is altered!

Our first step upon arrival was calling my Parisian friend Christophe. After our food at the cafe across from Nôtre Dame, we walked across the Seine, and I found a phone. The phone happened to be right across the street from Paris' very ornate and beautiful city hall.

Notice the merry-go-round, and the ice skaters in front of the building. Christmas in Paris is muchless commercial than it's U.S. counterpart, but it is a time of winter enjoyment nontheless.

How does Paris's City Hall compare to mayor's offices that you may find in the U.S.?
As I mentioned, there are many bridges that cross the Seine river in Paris. And on those bridges you never quite know what you may find. (There's a very cold live person inside of that King Tutankuman costume!)

And here is Dani on the Island of the City, which is called so because it is surrounded by the River Seine. Notice the typical Parisian apartment buildings with their distinctive windows, balconies, and blue-gray mansard style roofs.Tallest behind Danika to the right is a tower of Nôtre Dame.
