My Valentine's Day Message. February 2001.

Hi,

This is my Valentine's message for you.

Once , God asked a man whether he could try to push a huge rock to the top of the hill. The man replied that he would do that. Then every day, the man would get up early , and push the rock up till the top of the hill. But everytime he reached near the top, the rock would become heavy and roll down back to the foot of the hill. Not giving up, the man would again start pushing the stone upwards. He did this for many years, untiringly. But then he began to suspect his own capabilities. Finally disheartened, he asked God whether he had the capacity to roll the stone to the top, or was God merely making fun of him.

God lovingly replied, "My dear child, I did not ask you to push the rock to the top of the hill because I wanted the rock on top. I asked you to do that because I wanted you to have the strength to push that rock from dawn to dusk. I wanted you to develop the will to try again & again, never giving up.".

"And now your body has the strength to work day & night, and you have the will to keep on trying till you succeed. And since you have done what I asked you to do, for your satisfaction, I'll help you push that rock up the hill." After saying this, God disappeared.

The man pondered a little on what God had said, and then pushed the stone up, believing that he could do that. And this time, the stone did not roll back, he reached the top.

I'm not trying to preach anything through this story. I'm sending it, just because it touched my heart. What you do with it, is upto you.

Wish you a very happy Valentine's day.

And if you are wondering what this story has to do with Valentine's day, well you know me. This is the way, I write Valentines. :-). No wonder I'm still single....

Simply,
Neel.
