Teaching outline for Hall Basics:

----------------------------
What is healing about?
-We heal people. And advise them, and generally care for them...
-Heal body and mind of people and animals alike (not so much minds of animals... but dragons)

If healing is what we do, what is our first and most important rule in the Healer Hall?
-Do no Harm!

Why is this so difficult?
-It's easy to harm someone if you don't know what you're doing. In that way, it could be a hard rule.."
-It's not always possible not to hurt. Of course not. But to harm - that we can avoid. Though it's not easy, not at all. Sometimes we want to hurt others. Sometimes we want to react, or defend. But so far as you can, you should never, ever, harm another. It is contrary to everything a healer is. It is up to /you/ to maintain this."

2 rules for healer appies:
-no drinking: can't heal if you've been drinking, bad press for hall
-no relationships: no time, and you need to put full concentration into studies and being ready to help, any time, anywhere.

When you wear the healer knot, you represent the hall... and must act acordingly.
-Call people by the correct title: "Journeymen and Masters should be addressed appropriately - Use their name and title, or craft and title. For dragonriders, you should address them as bluerider Cayl, weyrleader, weyrwoman.. whatever happens to be appropriate for that 'rider. For holders, Lady and Lord Holder would be correct. And for any of these... sir or m'am."

Traits for a healer:
trustworthy, kind, respectful, patient, understanding, knowledgable, caring, compassionate and impartial. I like your thoughts of not being afraid of blood and gore!

Ok... the last bit of info is all OOC. Make yourselves available to heal... RP is good, and the best practice.. and Log, log, log... Keep in mind that as a healer, people in HT may try to get you to come /right away/ to see them - like they just chopped off their leg... Don't feel bad if you can't RP when someone contacts you, try to find them a healer - use the healer channel for that. Also remember that Apprentices, junior or senior, can /not/ heal unsupervised. You must have a Journeyman or up to supervise you - also use the Healer channel for that. Lastly, find yourself a mentor. They are invaluable to have. You can ask anyone of Journeyman rank or up. type 'help ment' to learn more about it... oh yeah... bug Sr. appies and above for classes... they're the ones that teach. any OOC questions?
