OOC: Theorn says "Hey everyone - i must note - this class involves acttive participation, we dont want any one just puttin stuff repetitivly, like "foo writes notes, foo listens" etc ok? good rp is they key ;)"

OOC: Kerali says "Yes Senior Apprentice Theorn. ;)"

OOC: Kiriya noddles. She's been in classes like that before.

OOC: Musuko understands perfectialy.

OOC: Nerak says "This is my first class, and I'll do my best..."

Kendrala waits patiently for the other appies to settle down. She is ready to take notes and ask questions.

Setrina flips open her notebook, titling it FA1. Setrina is happy that is finally going to learn.

Kerali leans back in her chair, her knees drawn up under her, and flips open her notebook. She grabs her stylus, and looks up, ready to write.

Theorn smiles, perching himself on a handy dandy chair. "Now, first off, any questions, just shout em out, but try to take your time with them, as they may be answered later in the lesson. Ok. Can anyone name some life threatening injuries that we might encounter? This lesson is to prepare you for emergency aid, so we should know a little about what we are dealing with. Jusat shout out answers." He says, glancing around, as if to pick out the bright apples from the rotten cores.

Kerali shouts out "Threadscore."

Kiriya shifts her weight around a little on the stool. Man, it hurts sitting on wood. She raises her hand, waiting for Theorn to pick her. Pickmepickmepickme.

You say, "Burns"

Musuko says, "Knife wounds!"

Kiriya gets the point. Blurt the answer. "Tunnel snake bites?"

Setrina says "Severe bleeding."

Willow *For the record, this is Theorn's first class and he will be earning credit. I'd like you to keep the ooc down to a minimum and really RP this one out. Credit comes after the class is completed.

You say, "Choking?"

Kiriya *squees. So it's a win-win thing

Kendrala says, "Drowning."

Setrina says, "anything with a punctured organ."

Kerali hrms in thought. Ah... "Falls off a cliff?"

Kendrala says, "Poisoning."

Setrina says, "heart failure"

Kiriya oohs. "Broken bones?"

Musuko says, "Head Injuries!"

Kerali says, "Forgetting to teach your Appy class?" Ahem. Sorry. *grin*"

Setrina says, "severe internal bleed...shock"

Theorn looks around, nodding randomly at people. "Ok, a lot fo things coming at me there. now, this kind of thing will not be discussed in this class. That will all come later. Can anyone tell me some injuries that arent life threatening, but should be treated immediatly. In other wors, what kinds of things will we be learning about this lesson?"

Kendrala scribbles rapidly and looks to Theorn for confirmation of all the answers that are being thrown about so rapidly.

You say, "Sprains"

Kerali grins. "Threadscore again."

Kiriya thinks. "Well, I mentioned broken bones...depends on which bone though."

Musuko says, "scrapes!"

Kerali says, "Agenothree burns."

You say, "Seizures?"

Musuko calls out, "Bruises, and shallow cuts."

Kiriya points at the scar on her eye. "Icky cuts!" Well, actually, that was threadscore and agenothree, but still.

Kiriya *eeps. Correction. It runs over her eye, but down her cheek

Zaphod * Do not point flamethrower directly at the ageenothree container.... sorry, wrng class. I had to do that. ;-)

Kerali erms again. "Animal bites?"

Kendrala considers and replies, "problems with heat and high temperatures."

Kerali emphatically nods at that one.

Nerak agrees too...

Musuko says, "Low tempratures, and frostbite."

Kiriya emphatically nods. "Like heat exhaustion! Get a lot of that at Ista."

Kiriya *not to the low temp thing.

You say, "Drowning accidents"

Theorn nods again, generally positive. "These are all good but... oh, right. Someone said exactly what i wanted. Cuts, also scraped, and minor lacerations and the like. can anyone tell me what you would do for a very minor scrape, with little bleeding? and how is it different from what you would do with a deeper cut, which is bleeding profusely?" See, Theorn can teach - despite his sudden plasuging doubts, he carries on.
Kerali erms at Nerak. "Wouldn't that be a life-threateneing thing?"

Setrina raises her hand

You say, "Could be..."

Kiriya pipes up, enthusiastically, "Redwort and bandage it!" She feels so smart today.

Theorn peers at setrina. "Just shout out if you havea question, dont worry, i wont bite." much.

You say, "Pressure to decrease the bleeding is not necessary for shallow cuts"

Setrina says, "You would wash the wound if minor, apply direct pressure. "

Kendrala raises her hand and waits patiently, scribbling with the other.

Kendrala soothe the patient first, then clean, and bandage.

Musuko writes the main points, and listens intently, intending to get alot of this.

Kiriya scribbles down point upon point in her book, making wherry-scratch almost all over the page. Need to improve that before she becomes a journeyman...

Nerak is taking notes, furiously, how do you spell....

Setrina says, "if there is a lot you of bleeding you apply direct pressure, raise the injured area if possible, and maybe press a pressure point."

Kerali takes some notes, then looks up. "For deep cuts, you'd tie a tourniquet above it, if possible, and elevate the cut above the heart if you can, to decrease blood flow." She grins.

Musuko says, "if it's too bad, a tournaquit is good.."

Nerak *wonders how close to real life this is, has taken many RL FA classes...

Setrina dislikes tournaquits.

Kerali *same here...pretty close so far.

Theorn smiles. What a good class he has to start with. "Thats good, all good. Very shallow cuts and scrapes can be left to open air, but others should be treated with redowrt, and a bandage. Very good of you to know to use pressure, that is for cuts that dont stop bleeding quickly." He glances at musuko. "A toruinet is not actually a good thing, though we will get to that a bit later."

Kendrala remembers the nasty cut her brother got paring redfruit once. Ugh. But she is ready to respond to the question for really bad cuts.

Kiriya elbows Musuko. "Tourniquets can cut off circulation, should only be used for severed limbs, you know..."

You say, "And the most severe of bleeding, not just severed...."

Kerali ahs. Learn something new every day. She scribbles some more, underling /tourniquets for severe bleeding or severed limbs/.

Kiriya ahhs. "I thought it was only for stuff like severed limbs. However, I'm enlightened."

Kendrala says, "Theorn, my mum once used thread to sew up a very bad cut my brother had from a knife."

Zaphod * Do not apply torniquet to both carotid areteries. ;-) Okay, I'll shut up now.

Theorn smiles at kiriya. "You are absolutely correct, though i would prefer you let me explain why in future." He says, with a slight glare, which passes over others who seem to want to teach too. "Only in extreme cases should a torquinet be used, and it shoudl be loosened every ten minutes, for a good while, to allow blood to flow, so as not to harm the affected area.

Setrina * hah hah fun-ny Zaphod.

Kerali raises her hand with a question. "Can a tourniquet be used for poisonous insect or animal bites?"

Kiriya smiles. So she's somewhat right. Okay, let the teacher teach, not the apprentices. Though after hearing Kerali, something registers in her mind that she's /wrong/.

Theorn glances over at kerali. "As i said, only in extreme cases of bleeding. With poisonous bites, you would probably be too late to stop the flow of the poison, but this is not a lesson on poisonous bites." the last said with a slight smile. "Torquinets are extremely discourtaged, except in the case of lost limbs, where it should be tied quite close to the end, so as not to damage more tissues."

Setrina takes franic note is her cramped writting, then ahhs with satifaction.

Kerali scribbles some more notes and nods.

Nerak writes down the information, and waits for further knowledge...

Theorn flicks over a page in his noes, and mutters something to himself, before adding "If a cut is painful, do not be afraid to use numbweed, and with small children, a sweetstick will go a long way to easing pain."

Kendrala recalls the afternoon that Novar sliced the palm of his hand. The bleeding wasn't too bad, but the slice made a nasty deep cut. Mum poured redwort on the cut, and, after Kendrala fetched thread and a needle, Mum sewed up the cut, pulling the edges together with each stitch.

Musuko nods, her parent's did that.

Kiriya takes notes frantically, attempting to listen to Theorn's lesson at the same time. At the mention of numbweed, she quietly snickers. That's where she got her nickname 'Numby' in hall basics...

Nerak remembers how *bad* numbweed smells, but how good it feels...

You paged Kiriya with: Nerak pages, "I take it the sweetstick is candy?"

Musuko takes down a few things. and waits until she can add more to her brain.

Kerali rubs the back of her hand a bit, remembering how it felt at the last Herbal class once numbweed was rubbed on it. It felt.....numb.

Kiriya pages, "Kinda like peppermint."

Kendrala says, "Theorn, I mentioned using thread and needle for deep cuts, earlier. Is that a good thing to do?"

Musuko nods, she thinks it is..

Theorn smiles. "Very deep, or long cuts may require stitching. Stitching requires a steady hand, and is just done to keep the skin together while it heals. when stitching, do not let the skin come to close together, or it will cause a nasty puckered scar." he glances round, as if unprepared for something. He turns his back for a moment, glancing around the room.

Nerak makes sure to add the part about the sweetsticks.

Kerali nods at Theorn's last comment. She remembers one of her traveling clanmembers having a nasty looking scar. Stitched poorly, it was. She makes another note.

Musuko adds about the scar's she didn't want any of her patients having any bad scars.

Kendrala nods, at least she did remember something that can be done with deep cuts, like Novar's. But, too bad that Theorn didn't hear her comment or question.

Kiriya smiles. She had lots of stitches after she was badly scored, and can remember hurting for days on end in the Healer Hall...

Setrina has a puckering scar on her leg.

Willow *Note..Numbweed /doesn't/ smell after it's cooked...:>

Nerak notes the advantage to leaving space so the scar won't pucker...

Kerali pauses in her notetaking to take a quick sip of her klah, which has cooled slightly. Back to the notes...

Kendrala wonders what Theorn is looking for, then wonders if he wants the appys to try some stitching.

Setrina takes notes, so that she will know what not to do, so no one else will have to have a scar like hers.

Musuko sips her Klah, in this quiet time. it tastes good.

Theorn continues. "The stitches should be an even spaceing, and not too close, as they are only there to aid the healing, not to replace the lost skin." he seems slightly lost for a moment. "Usually apprentices are given an oragefruit to ppractive with, but i dont seem to have any." he says, with an expectant look towards the appies.

Having taken advantage of the slight pause in lesson, Kerali finishes up her last note and emphasizes wiht an underline. She looks up as Theorn continues.

Kiriya scribbles notes, hoping for more enlightenment on the topic at hand...

Kendrala slips her carrysack from her shoulder and drops it on the floor. She opens the flap with the blue embroidery. She fishes out exactly six orangefruit from her bag. "Theorn I have some orangefuit here, if you like.

Kerali pipes up quickly. "I've got a redfruit, if that'll work?"

Nerak pulls 2 orangefruits out of her bag...

Kerali eyes Kendrala. Show off. She makes a face, then turns back to Theorn.

Kiriya erms. "All I have is a bag cookies. Those wouldn't do..."

Kendrala passes an orangefruit to Kerali and Kiriya. "Now all we need are some needles and thread. Anyone have those?"

Kiriya *of cookies, I mean

Kiriya ahhs. Yes, she has needles and thread. Need those to repair clothing. "Got some!"
Kerali mumbles something akin to "Thanks" to Kendrala and takes the orangefruit.

Kendrala continues to pass orangefruit around to the others.

Musuko says, "Thank you."

Kiriya takes an orangefruit, and begins to slice it with her stylus. That's the only pointy object she's got...

Theorn smiles at kendrala. "Excellent, i though i could smell some. If you wouldnt mind, hand one piece out to everyone, if you have enough?" he then rummages round his own back, and around the room, producing some needles and thread. "Now take a needle and thread it. You can practice on your fruit by cutting it, and attempting to stitch it. I will continue to teach, and at the end of the lesson you can show me the results."

Setrina is soooo tempted to eat rather than stitch, but she will not.

Kerali removes one of her daggers from her boot and slices the fruit open, releasing the aroma of citron into the air.

Kendrala stabs the orangefruit with the knife that she has stashed in her best sash. Oh, smells good.

Nerak cuts the orangefruit with her knife, and begins to stitch it. "It's not too hard, Is this what skin feels like to stitch??

Setrina says, "This is going to messy," giggling evilly, as the fruit juice gushes into her hands. "

Musuko uses her dagger to make a small cut. she then takes and threads the needle, starting to sew up the fruit, making many mistakes, but finally getting one that looks decent.

Theorn leaves the appies the things, trusting them enough not to kill themselves with a needle. "Now, broken bones are the nect topic I'll go over, this subject is expanded in first aid two, and the advanced class bonehealing. To start, how can we recognise a broken bone, simply by visual obdervation?"

Kerali accepts the needle and thread from Theorn with a "thanks" and threads the needle perfectly, on the first try. She then looks at the orangefruit skin, inserts the needle into the skin, slowly beginning to stitch as juice runs down her hand.

Setrina then threads her needle, starting on one side then going to other.

Kendrala takes a needle and threads it. She then makes a rather large ugly knot in the end of the thread before starting a very long stitch in the fruit. She lifts her eyes with Theorn's next question.

You say, "Breaks in the skin, sometimes bones can be poking through"

Kiriya threads her needle after licking the end of her thread several times. Puncturing the rind, she makes a few stitches. To Theorn, she answers, "Well. Um, I think the skin is swollen and bruised?"

Kendrala says, "Or maybe the limb looks twisted or bent in a strange way."

Setrina says, "unusual lumps, or depressions"

Musuko agrees with all three.

Kerali nods. She's seen enough broken bones to last a lifetime. "Not to mention the patient can't move the affected limb/appendage/what have you."

Nerak after a few stitches, her technique seems to be improving. Is this what it would really feel like?

You say, "The person would probably also be in shock, right?"

Setrina drops her fruit, in order to take notes, licking her finger in the process.

Kerali smirks, remembering when one of her caravan mates almost decked her when she checked to see if his leg was broken after falling out of the wagon.

Kendrala says, "The patient might complain of feeling nauseous. Or having an upset stomach. Or like that might fall over."

Kiriya tries to take notes and stitch at the same time...Woe is she...

Theorn smiles. These appies seem to know everything. Now what cocky little appy does that remind him of... "Again, all good things. also the patient will be in a lot of pain, and mya actually be able to move the limb. i once broke my wrist, but was able to move my arm quite well even moments after the breask - though it did hurt."

Musuko puts her orangefruit thingy down, wipers her hands on her pants, and takes some notes.

Kendrala remember when she broke her hand. She just wanted to lie down and not move because she felt so faint.

Setrina nods "Children sometimes don't bring their pain to their caretaker, prefering pain, than to stop playing. I did."

Nerak thinks, darn, my notebook is going to be sticky, but takes notes anyway.

Kerali hrms a bit and takes more notes, pausing in her stitching. She did *much* better in Herbalry class the other night.

Kiriya missed herbalry class that night, and grumbles...

Kerali *smirks at Kiriya. Are you reading my thoughts? ;)

Theorn carries on with the lesson, apparently starting to loose himself in his monologue. "A gentle feeling of the affected area should alert you to any break under the skin - Breaks that come through the skin are compound fractures, and are dealt with in first aid 2. now, can anyone tell me what you would do upon encountereing a break under the skin? or as we call it - a fracture."

Setrina says, "do no harm."

You say, " Immobilize it ?"

Setrina says, "and that"

Kerali says, "set up a splint around it?"

Kendrala says, "Depends on where the break is. Splint it, I would think, "

Kiriya thinks a moment. Her mind is a blank... but she tries anyway. "Uh...er...let me see. Aren't there any herbal treatments for that?"

Kendrala nudges Kiriya. "For healing the bones, yes, not sure about right after a break."

You paged Kiriya with: Nerak pages, "Herbs, herbs and more herbs. Do you want fries with that? :)"

Theorn peers at Setrina for a moment, apparently surprised by what she said, but he tals anyway. "First, you have to make sure that the bone is set correctly, we wouldnt want it healing in the wrong position. This can be done by a tuggin of the bones, pulling them apart and then letting the move back together into a natural position. You should also numbweed the area, to make sure that no pain is caused."

Nerak cringes, that sounds quite painful...

Scribble scribble scribble....that's all Kerali is seeming to do during this class...

Nerak remembers more from the healing books that her 'Uncle' gave her than she thought...

Theorn looks at Kiriya. Can you guess who's starting to get some black looks? its not that she's worse - she just catches his attention more. "The break should then be immobilised by splinting, and bandaging it, to prevent movement of the linb, which would agitate the break. Can anyone suggest what you would use for a splint and bandage if you were away from the infirmary?"

You say, "sticks and vines?"

Setrina says, "a piece of wood, cloth"

Kendrala says, "Depending on where the accident took place, wood pieces, and we all have clothes that we could rip to make strips to bind the wood piece in the right place."
Setrina says, "or for a soft split, blanket, and strips of cloths "

Setrina says, "that's a blanket that fold..."

Kerali says, "I would have to say a piece of wood, some cloth strips perhaps. And if you have a blanket, covering the patient up might be a good idea, particularly for shock." There. Hope she's somewhat right."

Setrina *folded

Kiriya gets to thinking. "Uh... okay, I think you could get something hard to put the limb against, and use a long piece of cloth to bind the limb to the splint?" She continues taking notes, and copious ones, too.

Kendrala says, "What if the patient complains of pain, even though you have splinted the broken bone?"

Nerak *heavy doses of Advil! :)

Musuko takes some notes, and adds. "You should Numbweed it, right?"

Theorn smiles. "fairly straight, sturdy sticks are the most obvious coice, though many other things will suffice. Yes setrina - a folded blanket will suffice temporarliy. if you have no cloth, use ripped pieces of tunic or skirt, if you must." he says, peering at the class. "Apprentices should not do anything more with the bone, but should immediatly go and find a journeyman or higher to assist. and yes- numbweed should be used if the patient has pain."

Nerak scribbles notes in her notebook, and hopes she can read them later...

Musuko smiles, she had gotten something right at least.

Kendrala says, "What if the patient still complains of pain, even after the numbweed is applied to the area of the bone break?"

Theorn seems to remember something "Oh, i remember now. An apprentice should not try to set the bone, but should immobilise it as best they can, then seek help" contradicting himself? no way! not theorn!

Setrina giggles "Do no harm. That was my reason for saying that."

Kiriya hmms. "'Drala, didn't Danna say a while ago that redwort cancels the effects of numbweed?"

Nerak asks "Is numbweed stong enough to dull the pain inside? I thought it only worked as a salve, for the outsde of the body... " and remembers rubbing it on her father for injuries...

Musuko smiles more at this. a teacher was acting like one of us..

Setrina says, "fellis?"

Kerali draws her breath in quickly at Setrina's reply. "Fellis is to be given ONLY by Masters, right?

Setrina nods

Theorn smiles. "Pain should not be evident after numbweed application, but if it is, seek the help of a senior healer. Numbwees has a deep effect, as should be taught in herbalry, along with the use of fellis, which apprentices cannot dose out." there. lecture over.

Kendrala leans in Kiriya's direction and mumbles, "Yes, she did, but only for us to use on our hands to keep them from going numb, Numby." She giggles.

Kiriya pffts at her old nickname...

Theorn seems to catch up with what is being said. "After numbweeding the wound, it should be redworted, to prevent infectio. redwort only works against numbweed if applied first, as it acts as a barrier against it."

Kendrala says, "If we were J'men, could we use willowsalic to treat the internal pain that numbweed couldn't reach?"

You say, "I'm sorry, I didn't quite get that, which one counteracts against the other??"
Nerak notes that she must take a herbalry class...

Leaning towards Nerak, Kerali whispers "Redwort. Redwort first, to protect the skin from numbweed." She nods.

Kiriya *growls. I hate this--my parents insist I get off RIGHT NOW, and this has happened when I missed herbalry... and I seriously don't want to miss getting credit again

Theorn takes deep breath to steady himself. "A lt of these questions will be answered in other lessons, so i wil lleave them to the capable teachers elsewhere." he says, with barely a smile. "Now, another minor injury which could occur at any time, often in conjunction with other injuries. The bruise."

Nerak turns toward Kerali "Thanks, I will have to write that down" and scribbles in her notebook...

Kiriya scribbles down 'Bruises' in her notebook...

Kerali nods to Nerak. "No problem." She looks back up at the mention of bruises, and winces slightly. Bad memories...

Nerak thinks bruises, ouch!

Kendrala checks her notes, and jots a few words here and there, adding what she missed during the class.

Kiriya *acks! Missed credit again... seriously, these classes are LONG. *doesn't want to be an appy forever...sob*

Musuko also jots down some occaisional notes.

Theorn continues on, oblivious for a few moment of what is going on. "A bruise will usually heal itself, and i'm sure you all know what one looks, and feels like. If a bruise is extremely back, herbs can be used to treat it, but again, this will be discussed elsewhere. But bruises are not always only skin deep. Bones can be bruised too. does anyone know what would be don to treat a bruised bone?"

Kiriya *My parents are being incredibly nasty. I have to go

Kerali shakes her head. She really has no clue on that one. She pauses in her notetaking for a moment.

Setrina says, "cold compress? "

You say, "Not numbweed, right?"

Kendrala mutters to herself. Ah, the willowsalic. "Give a small dose of willowsalic"

Kendrala says, "And advise the patient to stay off the bruised bone."

Theorn smiles. "Numbweed can be used, but the suggested remedy is Kendrala's suggestion. A small a,ount of willowsalic will help the pain subside, but the limb must be rested, and care taken of the bruised area to make sure it is not subjected to more damage."

Kerali raises her hand sudddenly. A thought occurred. "What about a comfrey compress?" She grins. Say that three times fast.

Nerak sighs and writes the information down. In learning, you find out just how much you dont know!

Setrina oohs that's right, herbery class comes back.

Kendrala realizes that Theorn is actually doing a very good job teaching this class, especially considering that he stepped in at the last moment. She hopes that she will do as well when she is a senior journeyman.

Theorn looks at kerali, turning his - not very - threatening gaze on her. &"Willowsalic. A comfrey compress would not have very much effect, as the bruise is beneath the skin." Do you get that his moods and things are rather random? chalk it down to nervousness - unless you now him well.

Kerali nods her head as she oh's. Scribble. She is going to have to study first aid VERY much so, before first aid II.

Theorn pauses, glancing at his sheef of notes. "Now, are there any questions about anything we have covered before i go on?"

Musuko scribbles more notes, flipping the page over. Classes were tiring...

Setrina says, "Wouldn't a cold compress slow internal bleeding? "

Kendrala considers Theorn with fresh eyes. She obviously does not know him well, actually not at all. But he must be very capable to do so well with this class. She would have been very nervous and would have been tripping over her mouth trying to say everything correctly.

Theorn smiles. "A cold compress would most likely have tha effect, but a bruise isnt serious internal bleeding." unlike before he now seems rather happy for the question. "Any other things?"

Nerak tries to fit all of her notes on a page, but has to flip it over to make more room. This will be hard to read...

Setrina shakes her head.

Musuko says, "Do we just leave it if it's small?"

Kerali nods, a question in her eyes. "What if someone gets a head injury, but doesn't black out. Is that considered serious still?

You say, "I know, numbweed if it's small!"

Kendrala says, "Will you check our orangefruit stitches?"

Setrina looks at Kerali "I would have them checked out by a healer." looking back Theorn.

Kendrala says, "You are a healer, Setrina, even if just an apprentice!"

You say, "I would like to know, if you are not near a hold, and there is an injury, how do you move the patient?"

Kerali winks at Setrina. "You are a Healer now, dear." She grins.

Setrina says, "I meant like a journeyman healer,"

Setrina gruffy says "Healer apprentice"

Setrina * alright I got to hop off the net now, sigh, but see ya'll later

Nerak notices that appy's are falling like flies...

Musuko says, "everyone's tired today huh?"

Kerali 's thankful she decided to start early on her klah. People seem to be falling asleep around her. She puts down her stylus for the moment, and sips her now cold klah, making a slight face.

Nerak takes the obvious time to sip klah, and refresh her cup...

Theorn smiles. "It depends on the injury. If necassary a stretcher could be brought, but that would involve leaving the patient. Usually unless its serious the patient can simpy be helped back to the nearest infirmary."

Musuko nods. and writes her notes carefully.

Nerak writes the information and hopes she is never caught in that situation...

Kerali , having been quiet all this time, looks up once more. "What about a dislocated shoulder? Should we attempt to pop it back in ourselves, or fetch a Journeyman/Master healer?" She waits quietly for the answer.

Theorn smiles. "Dislocations, theres a good question. You should tell the person not to move the limb, or what have you, and get a journeyman to come and see to it."

Musuko nods and takes the notes, hoping she would have to use it, but not soon.

Kerali nods in agreement. AFter dislocating her shoulder a sevenday ago, she wholeheartedly agrees. She shrugs her shoulder slighlty (without wincing, for once) and returns to her notes.

Kendrala says, "What about our orangefruit stitches?"

Theorn almost slaps himself. "Yes, thats right. bring them to me now, i almost forgot about those."

Musuko brings her decent attempt up, "Here, it's the best I could do."

Kendrala looks quickly at her stitches. Ugh, not very good. But they will have to do. "Here is my fruit, not very good."

Nerak brings up her fruit covered in stitches, and hopes it is good enough not to leave a scar...

Kerali oh's. Almost forgot about the stitches. She finishes up 3 more, then holds up the slippery orangefruit with it's stitched-up cut across one side. She walks up slowly to Theorn, slightly embarrased. She doesn't think these stitches are all that great...but you never know.

Kendrala giggles as she watches Kerali blushing with her orangefruit in hand. She probably thinks that her stitches aren't all that good, but hey, she didn't see mine.

Theorn takes the fruit in hand, checking each one over. "Musuko, keep them even like you have, but a bit further apart, kendrala, a good effort, but you need to try to keep them even, but you havent tied it too tight which is good.... Nerak, a bit tight, but otherwise well done - and so many stitches....Kerali, not bad at all, nice and eve, and good spacing, but you dont want the eges to be stitches so tightly together. All in all well done class." he sighs, slumping down in his chair. "And that, my dear apprentices, is basic first aid 1. You may all return to.. wherever you come from..."

Nerak hopes, ok, good enogh to hold the skin together!

Theorn says, "unless you have more questions?"

Musuko nods, she likes getting praise. "Nope."

Kendrala grins and replies, "Any suggestions or words of advice for those of us almost to being senior apprentices?"

Kerali 's eyebrows arch slightly. Wow. I actually did my stitches okay! She beams happily, and nods to Theorn. "Thank you so much for coming out of your way to make up for this Journeyman over here..." and she nods in the direction of the still snoozing Tyran. "At least he didn't snore through your class." She chuckles slightly.

Nerak takes a deep breath, she has made it through her first class! "Thank you very much! You were wonderful to fill in, and obviously know the material. Thanks!"

Theorn rolls his eyes. "Quit while you can." he grins thoughas he says it. "Dont say anythign rude to superiors, stick to the rules, and take your time to learn everything." he replies to kendrala. He smiles at the praise from nerak. Thank you, i do what i can."

Theorn * and praise from kerali too ;)

Kendrala waits as the other apprentices mill around, thanking Theorn for the class, and oo-ing and ah-ing over their stitches. "Thanks from all of us, even Tyran.

Theorn * ok, run along ;) i'm off home ;)

Nerak adds the last words of advice to her notebook before closing it! "Hey did he get some cake??"

Theorn peers. "Cake?"

You say, "There was a *birthday* here tonight, and we had cake while waiting for Tyran... "

You say, "The cake is, I believe, on the desk behind you..."

Theorn smiles. "I really shouldnt. I'll leave the cake to you all" he says, even as he takes a slice, as he makes his way out of the door, forgetting his sheef of notes. "see you all."

Musuko completes her notes, before putting her notebook in her pocket.

Kendrala gathers her things, stuffing them in her notebook.

Nerak cleans up after her messy orangefruit experiment. Then puts her notebook back in her bag. She then stretches, and decides it's time to go home...

Kerali smiles as Theorn heads home, finalizes her notes, then slaps it shut. Leaning back, she sighs. "That...was a great class, fellow Appies."

You say, "Definately. Good for a first class!"

Musuko says, "indeed."

OOC: Kendrala by the way, let's remember to thank Theorn the next time he is on. He lives in the UK. It is around 3 AM there.

Nerak *Oh my, didn't realize that!

Kerali *eek. Didn't realize that. Maybe we should get *him* a cake!

Kendrala *me neither. So he really deserves out thanks.

You say, "Oh yeah!"

Kerali looks over at the still-sleeping Tyran. "As for this guy over here...do we have to report him or somethin?" She gets a puzzled, slightly frowning look on her face.

Kendrala stretches as she stands. "Let's all stuff the orangefruit in his shirt so he will have something to eat when he wakes up.

Kerali suddenly breaks out into a fit of laughter at that idea. "Better yet, we could practice our stitching on him...stitch the legs of his trousers together." She chuckles again.

Kendrala grabs her needle and thread and dashes over to Tyran, so peacefully slumbering.

Kerali grabs her needle and thread as well, joining Kendrala. Flashing her a wicked smile, she nods, and begins stitching ever so carefully, so as not to wake Tyran.
