[Healer Chat] Jassay: Nerak!

[Healer Chat] Nerak: hello Jassay!!

[NerakChat] Jassay waves, was sick Sunday, and has been waiting to RP with you before I go knot begging, but I can't RP right now

[NerakChat] Nerak: oh... rats

[NerakChat] Jassay hasta clean her room, unless you don't mind me being a bit idle

[NerakChat] Nerak: I'm Ok w/it... not doing much anyways

[NerakChat] Jassay nods, where to then?

[NerakChat] Nerak: I should come visit you and tell you that the masterhealer is gone

[NerakChat] Jassay: Yah mean da fraud.

Jassay is sitting on a couch, scroll in hand and klah nearby, as well as food. Seems this young former apprentice is busy attending to her former studies, again.

Kiriya stealthily and gracefully stalks in from the Seacliffs Courtyard.

Nerak walks into the common room looking for her former mentee and wanders into the common room. She sees her mentee Jassay sitting at the other end of the room and walks over there. "Hello Jassay. How are you!"

Jassay looks up and gives a wave. "Journeywoman Nerak, hello," she greets her former mentor with a smile. "Have a seat."

Paddlepaddlepaddle. "Okay! Bye!" Kiriya yells to some person out of the general view of the others around as she makes her way in to the Seacliffs Hall. "Eh... sorry, Nerak. Just catching up with people I haven't seen in Turns," the senior apprentice confesses, hanging her head slightly. "Talkin' about Ageron? That foppish impostor? Good thing he got caught. That Master Khaneos probably got a FORTUNE as a reward for turnin' him in."

Nerak hugs Jassay then sits next to her. "I have some great news for you, Jassay. Ageron, the man we all were told was the masterhealer, was a fake, and was arrested and taken to jail during his goodbye party. It was quite a sight!"

Jassay smirks. "I am not surprised in the slightest that he was found the fraud," she notes simply. Of course she's not surprised. "In fact, I'm glad he was hauled off," mean isn't she, well, it's his fault that she gave up her knot. "Anyway, it's a pleasure to see you Nerak, Kiriya."

Nerak looks at her mentee with her eyebrow raised, "Jassay, that means you can come back now! All you need to do is get your knot back from Master Aerrin! We all are hoping that you will come back. Many of us were talking about it..." She looks to Kiriya for backup. She grins, "And I do hope that he got a good reward for turning the imposter in. It was wonderful of him to do that." She adds with a sly smile…

Kiriya grins. "Yup. We miss you a lot... and now that the mystery's unfurled, you can come back, hopefully, as you were." The braided healer lass grins widely. "Can't wait to see you back in action."

Jassay blinks. "What, you'd want the impudent apprentice back in your midst? The disobedient, disrespectful one?" she chuckles. "The craft is either insaner than I though, or just you," she gives Nerak a wink. "He better have gotten a good reward, marks and marks, I can't believe someone would dare pretend to be the masterhealer. "Yer all nuts, wanting the disobedient one back..."

Nerak smiles, "Yes, Jassay, we /really/ do wish you would return to the hall... It's not the same without you... Honestly, you were only disrespectful and disobedient to someone who was an imposter. Master Aerrin did know that day that he was an imposter, but couldn't let anyone know that she knew... so that he would not suspect anything." She laughs, "Of course, I am definitely insane... but we all do like you and want you back."

"Of course we're nuts! Or, at least I am... being Kiriya, of course," Kiriya replies. "But we love you and want you back and all, 'cause you make a fantastic healer." Yup yup. Kiriya's not going to deny that. She paddles over to Jassay's side and leans in towards her. "And partner in crime, too."

Jassay snickers. "I'll admit, I've missed you guys and the hall, just about regret handing over my knot," is stated with a grin. "And know that I know that fraud is gone, I'll probably go to Master Aerrin, get down on my hands and knee's and /beg/ to be let back into the hall."

Nerak laughs, "Yes, partner in crime as well! hehe..." She thinks back to the sleepover when they all put numbweed on the toilet seats and laughs. "And you are a good healer. You teach well, it is definitely noticeable that you understand what you are teaching, because you can answer questions. I don't think you'll have to beg, but you will surely have to explain the way you acted, I think. I also know that she is happier now that he is gone!"

"Indeedy. He was a fop if there ever was one." Kiriya crosses her arms 'neath her chest and snorts. "I'm GLAD he's gone... I'm going to go over to the prison one day and throw things at him, I just know it. I hated him that much."

Jassay chuckles at the recollection. "Put a new spin on the saying 'numb bumb'" is stated with a grin. "Who wouldn't be happier, now that he's out of the halls hair, he was certainly enough of a nuisance," she notes slightly. "My explanation, however, is something like, I couldn't stand to be in a hall were the masterhealer wastes the halls money on overly priced luxuries where he could have done with things a little more modest than what he did. The marks that he spent on luxuries could have gone towards hall needs, like listening tubes, jars, tins, robes..." etc, etc, etc. "Make sure to take me with you when I do, I hated that man. I hope he never gets hurt on my watch..." she'd take care of him, but that doesn't mean she'd want to…

Nerak raises her eyebrows, her eyes filled with mischief, "You may just have company with you when you go there, apprentice" She sighs, "I still wonder who is going to pay for all of those things..." She grins, "I understand, Jassay, I know the 'do no harm' but that man wanted me to harm... him anyways. That is very unprofessional of me, but..."

Roswitte enters the room, toting a burlap sack. Once through the door, she surveys the people gathered. Offering a smile and an unobtrusive greeting, she makes a b-line for a chair. Obviously a bit winded from the walk that brought her here, she settles herself in the chair with a relieved sigh, setting down her burden and absently smoothing her hair back with her palm.

"The man sent me ample enough times to do his shopping for him- always made sure to get at least one or two things he hated." Kiriya nods in assurance, a small smirk forming upon her face. "Nearly blew up at me once, but I used the excuse of 'but you didn't explain /exactly/ what you wanted, Masterhealer sir'. Faranth, he was a MORON."

Jassay eyerolls, giving an absent wave to Roswitte. "He was, I dare say it was funny watching his reaction when some apprentice would intentionally mess something up on him," she states with a smirk. "I dare say, I almost want to know his reaction when he found that he'd sent a healer packing."

Nerak nods in agreement, "Yes he was. But I do still believe that if he really /was/ the Masterhealer, we still should have given him the respect he deserved, even if he was an idiot. It's the rank that deserves the respect, not the man... Gratefully, the /real/ Masterhealer is a good man." She sees the new person sit down and smiles at her, and thinks that this is a good time to change subjects. She gets up, walks over to the klah pot and fills a mug. "So, Jassay, what have you been doing with your time here, other than going over your scrolls, I see."

Roswitte offers Jassay a quick smile and sprawls comfortably in her chair. Though she remains silent, she listens keenly to the others' gossip. Who could they be speaking of?

"Haven't seen Talmer m'self, but yeah, I've heard he's good." Noticing Roswitte over yonder, Kiriya gives her a bright smile and a wave. Always the personable one, eh? "Hullo!" she greets perkily. Oy.

Jassay nods. "That's about it, keeping up with my studies, helping out in the infirmary when I've been needed, not often. As you know, I took stock of our supplies," she shrugs and takes a sip of her klah. "Nor have I Kiriya, but, he's done nothing that irritates me, so I'll say he's a good person, and a good healer," she nods her head slightly.

Tasting the fresh mug of klah, Nerak walks back over to where she had been sitting before, next to Jassay, and shakes her head. "I've heard he is /the/ best, and that is why he made MasterHealer. He is also a wise and kind man... as the ultimate healer would have to be. I'd like to meet him someday." She smiles over to Roswitte, "Hello there, I"m Healer Journeyman Nerak, these are Sr. Apprentice Jassay and Sr.Apprentice Kiriya. Kiriya and I are here to visit Jassay." She wonders if she shared too much info... but decided that it is her character, so it's ok... she hopes.

Jassay shakes her head. "I'm just Jassay," she states, correcting Nerak politely. "They'd come to share some information from the hall," states the former healer appy as she curls her legs up under her.

Roswitte, a bit rested, rouses herself to fetch a cup of water from one of the tables. Sipping it, she continues her eavesdropping, though the topic-matter is much less juicy than before. "Oh, good morning. My name is Roswitte." Approaching the trio of young women, she asks, "May I join you? I'm afraid I've already been listening in on your conversation, anyhow." She offers a smile.

Nerak looks over at Jassay, and admonishes, "You'll be Sr. Apprentice again, as soon as you speak to Master Aerrin..." She hopes... "You just have to come and talk with her." She turns back to the new girl, and grins, "Sure, you may join us. We were just talking about the swindler that was posing as the MasterHealer at our hall. He created quite a stir." Again, talking too much…

Jassay nods. "Go ahead," is stated towards Roswitte. "And you don't know for certain Nerak, it's up to Aerrin whether I get restored to my full rank, or start again," yes Nera, again, too much.

Roswitte glances between Jassay and Nerak, seating herself at their table. "An imposter Masterhealer? -- Well, haven't heard about that before. And probably for good reason," she remarks.

Nerak shakes her head in amusement, "You have to think positively, Jass. She said she would take you back, but you have to ask her for your knot back." She turns to look at Roswitte, "Yes, it was quite a stir. He came to our hall, looking like a beggar, and told us that he was our MasterHealer. No one at our hall had seen him before, so we all thought he was telling the truth... afterall, why would someone lie about that! So, while in the hall, he spent quite a bit of the hall's money on fineries for himself and, frankly, being rude to everyone. We are glad that the man really wasn't the MasterHealer..."

Jassay nods. "And you didn't hear about it, cause we don't want anyone to know," she states with a nod of her head. "Overly glad, and trust me, I'll ask Master Aerrin, I'll beg and plead and get down on my knees if I have to..."

Roswitte doesn't seem to have much to say about such deception, although she does murmur her disapproval during Nerak's brief narrative of the man's deeds. She takes another swallow of water, interest still held by the healers' conversation.

Nerak chuckles, "Knowing Aerrin, you may have to do that... " She laughs. "It's not a secret anymore, the man is in jail in Ista now... and I'm sure the caravans are spreading the news, as well as the Dragon Riders... news does get around Pern quickly..." She takes another sip of her klah. "So, Roswitte, we are healers, what do you do?"

Jassay nods slightly at Nerak's comment. "I'm sure she'd enjoy that too much," she states with a chuckle before turning to Roswitte. "Yes what do you do?"

Roswitte, put on the spot, seems momentarily at a loss for words. She smiles, instead, glancing over her shoulder towards the sack she carried in with her, which now lies quietly near a chair by the door. "Well, I live with my mother and aunt. And I... do... well, nothing really. I tend the garden, and I cook and clean." Her brow furrows. "I enjoy sewing and knitting quite a lot. But I don't do anything important. How did you both become interested in healing?"

Nerak takes a deep breath, "Well, I lived with my father. He got very ill just before he died, and I took care of him. He did not want to see a healer, but one came to where we lived when a traveler told him that my father was sick. Once the healer left me instructions and medicine, I took care of my father until he died. I found that I liked healing... I always had, really. I took care of sick animals too, before my father got sick." She takes a sip of her klah, now obviously re-living her memories.

Jassay shrugs softly. "Well, I like helping people, and to spite my father," she chuckles. "Well, not the last part. I just like to help people," she states with a nod of her head and a sip of her klah.

Roswitte listens. "Learning to heal must be hard work," she comments with a slight frown. When contrasted with her everyday domestic occupations, at least.

Nerak nods, "It is at times... but other times, it is a joy! Like when you see a baby born, or the relief when someone comes in, thinking that they are very sick, and it's just something simple. I really love being a healer, and can't imagine myself doing anything else." She grins, love of her occupation oozing out of every pore.

Jassay nods slightly. "I remember when I walked onto the beach and a woman had just gone into labor, there wasn't any other healer around, I had to send for a journeyman to come and supervise," she notes with a bright grin. "Or they think they're sick and find out it's really nothing horrible, but good news or something."

Roswitte smiles. "Well, it was very nice to meet the both of you, but I'm afraid I ought to go. I'm delivering some of my harvest to a cothold near here, and I should get a move on if I want to make it there in time for lunch." She gets up and with another smile and a friendly wave, she goes over to fetch her sack and exits the hold.

Nerak laughs, "Working in the infirmary brings in many... interesting cases as well... It is always a new experience when you work there!" She chuckles when she thinks of the many bizarre ways that people have to get hurt or sick... "So, Roswitte, do you have a thought, yet, as to whether or not you are going to join a craft?" When she looks up, she notices the girl is gone and smiles at Jassay helplessly.

[OOC:] Nerak says "Rosewitte she said she had to go, and apologized for leaving so soon, if she didn't page you..."

Nerak smiles at Jassay, "So, dear, when do you think you'd be ready to come home to the hall?" She knows she is pushing it... but really wants Jassay to come back…

Jassay offers a shrug to Nera. "Well, I'll have to pack up, and tell Master Taree and Leigh, and Iona that I'm going back to the hall indefinitely," she notes. "And find a ride back as well..."

Nerak grins, "Well, I could stay with you and help you with your work, then you can ride back with me. As a Journeyman, I have certain ... privileges..." She grins, "Ok, I have a dragonrider with me who says he is going to visit some friends here, then will come here and pick me up when he is ready to go... "

Jassay chuckles slightly. "I suppose I could do that," she states. "I mean, it won't take much to pack up all my stuff, I haven't even made myself at home yet."

Nerak chuckles, "I'm glad to hear that..." She grins, that means she never planned to stay! hehe. "Good, so where do we start?" She rubs her hands together, eager to get started and get her mentee back home, where she needs to be!

Jassay shrugs. "My cot, toss it all in the trunk, that's about the extent of it," she notes. "Not much more that needs to be done outside of that."

Nerak laughs, "Great! Well, then, lets get you ready to go! We can leave Taree a note if she's not available... then be on our way when the 'rider comes back. If you want, you can stay in my room until you talk with Aerrin, you may feel more comfortable that way, instead of being in the appy barracks." She takes another sip of her now cold klah... ewww

Jassay nods. "She knew I'd be going back if given the opportunity," is offered before a nod is given at the offer. "Until I talk to Aerrin, I'd feel a little out of place back in the dorms."

Nerak smiles, "Good, then it's settled, you'll stay with me! We'll talk to Aerrin as soon as she is available then. That is if you want me there... I'm more than willing to go with you, as your friend as well as as your mentor." She looks at Jassay seriously, "I really want you to come back, you /will/ be a good healer, you have demonstrated that time and time again. If it takes extra work to do it, I'll help you all I can."

Jassay chuckles and nods. "Yah, I might need some moral support, Master Aerrin can be a very intimidating person," she points out simply. "And you know I love being a healer, I was really hoping to be a dolphin healer, and hopefully I'll still get that chance."

Nerak nods "I'm sure you will, Jass. I'm sure you will. Aerrin did sound upset that you gave her your knot... she didn't want you to leave any more than any of the rest of us... I'm sure she would have thought of a suitable punishment, but I really don't think she would have thrown you out..." She shakes her head. "The other girls just had to wait hand and foot on Ageron until he left, now they are laughing with the rest of us at his fate."

Jassay chuckles. "I was rash, what can I say. If I'd actually thought about it I wouldn't have said it," she notes with a nod. "Anyway, I wouldn't want to wait hand and foot on that despicable man," she points out with a scowl.

Nerak shakes her head, "Jassay, that attitude is one thing you'll have to work on when you get back... There may be patients that have attitudes like that and you'll have to treat them anyway." She shook her head, "Even though someone is a bad person, they still deserve to be treated right... especially by a healer. I think Aerrin is also afraid that you'll act that way once you are a Journeywoman and out on your own. She doesn't want the healer hall to get a bad name."

Jassay nods. "I understand that. And I'm not going to ever stop anyone from getting care from a healer, be it me or someone else, they'll get attended to, you should know that. If I can't attend to someone I'll find an equally as qualified a healer to attend to them," she states before taking a sip of her klah.

Nerak nods, "/I/ know that, Jass, but I think you'll have to convince Aerrin of that. I also know that you will act professionally. I know that if a non-healer was in the lounge that day, none of us would have been speaking that way..." She stands up to re-fill her klah mug with fresh klah, dumping the cold klah out first. Walking back to the couch, she grins at Jassay, "I know it's hard to hold your tongue... I have problems all of the time... if you didn't know, I tend to talk too much myself" She says, chuckling, knowing that all of the healers tend to tease her about it, kindly of course..

Jassay chuckles and nods. "I suppose it would have been better if a non-healer was present, than we wouldn't be at the point we're currently at," she offers. "And I know I'll have to convince Aerrin of that, but I don't know how I'd go about that."

Nerak chuckles and shakes her head, "Yes... I know. But we did, and we have to live with what happened. I told Aerrin that I should have taken you out of the room to have a private conversation, instead of getting some of the apprentices involved. I do regret that..." She sighs, "But that is overwith now..."

Jassay frowns slightly, not an overly familiar sight when it comes to the apprentice. "I just don't know Nerak, I have know idea how I'm going to convince Master Aerrin that I'm not going to begrudge my patients the care that they need..."

Nerak grins evilly, "Hmmm, maybe we just need to sensitize you to people like that... maybe make you work the infirmary at the jail?" She laughs, "No, just kidding. But we do need to get you to tolerate people like that more, there are many of them on Pern, and we all need to learn to ignore them and not let it get under our skin, so to speak..."

Jassay scowls. "I'm perfectly capable of ignoring their imperfections, just not when I hafta listen to him," she states with a nod. "At the end of the day I might be downright ticked off because of all the people, but I can ignore it long enough to do the job."

Nerak nods, "Yes, but you also need to learn to deal with them if you work with them... you can't just keep asking to be posted elsewhere if you run into someone like that... I'm sorry for lecturing, but it is the truth." She takes yet another sip of klah... no sleeping tonight for her! hehe

Jassay sticks her tongue out at her mentor. "Lecture lecture lecture," she chuckles. "I know Nera, but he bugged me from the start, and I couldn't seriously think that he was the masterhealer," she states with a nod. "And I /know/, that's no excuse."

Nerak nods, "You are right, but you shouldn't have let it get to you like you did... you /will/ have patients like that in the future..."

Jassay frowns. "Nera, I get it," she notes slightly. "It's not something that you have to drill into me."

Nerak smiles tiredly, "I know, Jass... It's just... I worry about you. I want Aerrin to take you back and I'm worried. I'm sorry. Well, lets get your things packed, and get back to the hall." She smiles, and sets her klah mug, now empty since she downed the last of it before speaking, down on the tray for dirty dishes. "Show me the way!"

[OOC:] Nerak says "I've got to go now... wish Aerrin would have come on. I might be back later."

[OOC:] Jassay snugs, have fun, thanks for the RP.

[OOC:] Nerak says "but will be back on tomorrow! thanks for the RP too! It was fun."
