The birth of Neptunia

Around 1037, the first major settlements appeared in North-Eastern Neptunia and gradually moved south to the coast of the Xaric Ocean. The borders shifted so many times that there is no real historical data to say where the borders were in the early 1100's.

1192

Between 1137 and 1246, settlements took the shape of territories; six at first. The first six were: Mayne, Penalia, Balthia, Arcanda, Cerillia and Dover.

The king realised that with the settlements, even though they are taking his lands, he may be able to stabalize the borders of Neptunia for once and for all.

The King worked witht he settlers to stabalize the borders and create the new territories.

The last seven territories to take shape were were: Lithia, Tapioca, Gardenia, Oceana, Nebraska, Pacifica and Atlantica.

1246

In 1280, 10 of the 13 territories demanded the right to self-government. The issue was a hot topic for over twenty years. The King never fully listened to the rantings of the people untill the end of the century. The people wanted to work with the native King, so they asked that King Francisco Magnolia V form a constitutional monarchy, keeping some powers, but giving most to a democratically elected government. In 1303, all 13 territories ratified the new constitution. The King signed the treaty as well.

Wishing no bloodshed or fighting, King Magnolia agreed to the mutually benifishal proposal, which also guaranteed that his native lands would be safe from other colonial powers which may have annexed the native lands, killed him, or worse.
