Geography

The Island of Avalon has been around for centuries. It is one of the most beautiful places on Nova Arcana; it has lush, dense rain forrests, 100 foot waterfalls, blue lagoons so clear that glass gets jealous of them, and rare animals so pretty that they make the slogan of Avalon, beauty beyond words, true to the last laetter.

Avalon is a chain of Volcanic islands. There are six main islands in the chain; these are the six biggest islands. They are: Avalonia (the biggest), Nolai Ahola, Keewakapaw, Hawkamonna, Shiloa and Tiz. In total, there are 1,143 Avalonian islands ranging from under one Sq Mi. to 974 Sq Mi.

Avalon was formed by volcanic magma which hardened over time to create the islands. The South-Western islands in the chain stand where Corillia (then merged with Kia) once was. The Avalonian Islands formed after Corillia moved to it's present location.

The first peoples to inhabit the lsland were thought to be from the Emerald Islands, but this held true for only people of the northern islands. Most of the other natives’ origins are unknown. Settlers from the Emerald Islands landed at Avalon in 1026. Upon returning to those same islands, they regaled their friends with horror tales of "wild men in loin-cloths," and "aborigines performing canibalistic voodoo-rituals." In actual fact, the natives (the ones that this group met) were only cooking wild Yewcubus (a large pig-like mammal) for supper and performing a ceremony to their GODs (much like Native North Americans used to (and still) do). Avalon was an independant island for centuries untill the settlers started comming. Nothing would stop settlers from comming in and destroying the beauty that was Avalon. Finally the native managed to get help from Kemano. Kemano agreed to stop settlers from comming to the islands and to just leave them alone. This worked untill Corillians started comming. Avalonians asked Kemano for help, but they did little if anything to stop the onslaught.

By 1100, the natives had had enough and started killing all settlers. They attacked anyone with force. Finally, in 1152, they were left alone. People has stopped comming to the islands in fear of their lives.

This peace lasted for over 100 years. By 1260, the settlers from Corillia and Kemano were back. This time, The Neptunian King took notice. He knew that Avalon was in trouble. He organized small groups to help fight off the Corillians and Kemanian. It worked, and Avalon was in debted to Neptunia. the King of Avalon and Francisco Magnolia IV made a pact that Neptunia and Avalon would be good, friendly neighbors.

Sports

Avalon has no major sports teams, although it does have many, many fine golf courses. One Course in particular, boulder Beach, on the island of Shiloa, is used for the Neptunian Pro Golf Guild's annual championship game... the Masters.

At the Masters, the best of the best in Neptunian (and some foreign) golfers compete for the coveted green jacket (hmmm... sound farmiliar?). This is the ultimate golf tournament of the season.
