What Is File Organizer ?

File Organizer is a program we created a while ago to search
our systems for files that we couldn't find and put them in
a specified sorted location so we could locate wav's, documents
etc.. that we thought we had lost. We had got tired of doing
loads and loads of manual searches using DOS Find or the
Windows Search utility so we came up with our own. It
started out as a tool to get documents and stuff from your
system before you formatted it or something.

File Organizer searches your hard drive(s) for music files,
document files, image files, mail files and so other stuff,
moves them from where they are and puts them in a directory
on your hard drive(s).

How Does It Work ?

Basically using a DOS utility called XFF which searches a hard
drive or directory for a certain file or type of file, or file
date and either deletes it, copy's it or moves it depending on
how you configure the command line. We have included the XFF
user guide and program with the File Organizer program.

How To Run File Organizer ?

Basically all you need to do is run the FileOrg.bat file from
C:\FileOrg. The file will run and there will be a small intro
and then your system drive(s) will be searched.

Where Do The Files Get Moved To ?

The end up in a directory called Drive?:\Entertainment\ or
drive?:\Documents\ and under there, are sub-directories for
Music, Images, Mail etc.. These are created on each drive that
is searched.

Whats New In Version 3.17 ?

Added extra file type searching, sorted directory structure
improved FileOrg.bat useless information cleared out.

What If I Have Problems ?

Don't call use ! We test everything we do and find the bugs
ourselves you have to wait for the next release.

What To Expect In The Next Version ?

Hopefully NT & 2000 support, ability to omit directories from
the search, new version of XFF component, graphical interface,
stop and start options, hopefully moving to VB
