the Kabbalah
Kabbalah is the study of ancient Jewish mysticism.
According to Jewish mystics, the teachings of Kabbalah have
been transmitted orally, from generation to generation, for
thousands of years. Kabbalah literally means "tradition" or
"transmitted teachings."
Kabbalah was once considered so mysterious that for
centuries only married men over the age of forty were allowed
study its teachings, but today both men and women of any age
study its principles. It is a collection of ancient mystical
concepts that serve to:
- connect a finite universe with an infinite God
- account for the existence of evil
- point to a way of spiritual attainment
The teachings of Kabbalah may seem rather complex, but at
the core there are some basic principles of cause and effect.
Not only do our actions bring positive or negative energies
into our own world, but every action we take in this world
produces a corresponding reaction in the divine world as well.
