Oh, the wild joy of living....
.... the passion of the dance, and the furious music of every breath. He is the horned stag. The God, the consort and the divine child. He is the oak and the holly, the hunter and the hart.

He is the product of creation, all living things, and indeed, the very act of living. The primal spark, the internal animal, the warrior and protector in us all.

The God reminds us of the joy in being... encouraging pleasure. He offers council, and prods us into action. His forms and names are many, but his essence is life.
Tricksters
Nearly every culture in every time has clebrated one trickster or another. He may possibly represent both the most beloved and most feared archetype of all.

Trickster adores mankind, or rather, he adores taunting us. Still, deep down we can believe in his deep seated affection. His teachings sting. His pranks embarass, and his actions promise our unending frustration. But always, we can trust that he has our best interest at least somewhat in mind.

He will make you chuckle, whether after or before he makes you cry is not important. He will teach you to laugh at yourself, to find joy in absurdity, and absurdity in everything.
He is the sacred clown, and the boogie man. The deciever who brings the truth of enlightenment.

There is no other like him. From old man Coyote to Set, those touched by the Trickster are forever changed.  To know him is to love to hate him. (he hates the seriousness of that- I shall amend it) To know him is to never know him. (better.)

If you find him peeking in your direction, grab onto your socks, loosen your self image, and practice your pig-latin.

You wont be sorry.
