THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RAINBOW
I traveled to the rainbows end
and walked down a narrow long path
I started looking up at its huge arch
a beautiful apology for god's wrath

it took me forever to get to here
and now it didnt seem very fair
that there was no pot of gold
the end of the rainbow was bare

I looked at its colors in awe
and wondered how it would feel
so I reached out to touch it
reached into its colorful seal

As I walked on through to the other side
things got really weird for me
I rubbed my eyes in disbelief
the colors started changing awkwardly

There was no more blue sky
Nope it was green instead of blue
I looked down and saw tan
and realized it was my shoe

but my shoe was white
before I came here
What the heck is going on
What is this I fear

Colors expolded everywhere
and the grass was violet red
the clouds were a funky color of yellow
the trees were the bland color of lead

Odd colors had taken over
the water wasnt blue anymore
It kinna resembled an easter egg
it was pink and green unlike before

A rabbit runs by, what could this be?
Ive never seen one that shade
He was purple can you believe that?
and his end with a bluish red fade

the animals colors were all awkward too
not just nature in this place
I was shocked when I saw my color had changed
I was tealish on my arms and my face

I explored this strange world
which seemed like another domain
across the galaxy far and wide
A new place to rule and ordain

I decided here is where Id stay
and set up a civilization
in a pinkish green pond I would swim all the time
Yes I would stay here for a long duration

I named myself god of my world
the only one to ever know its existence
I built me a castle upon the silver grass
with a cute little black picket fence

Twas sposed to be white but thats what ya get
when you come to this nether-plane
once you cross over to this parallel world
you will never quite be the same

my crown was made out of the prettiest brass
which wasnt golden yellow in hue
instead it was violet and chartreuse
This color combination was new

I hafta admit it really kinna goes
with the other crazy colors there be
Im intrigued to know what colors take ahold
of the mountains and the desert and the sea

Could you imagine the color of snow
it would prolly be ecru
or the mountains on which it fell
they would prolly be cobalt blue

the desert instead of a beigish brown
would turn into the brightest spring green
the cactus would change to a lovely shade of fuchsia
a veritable universe from a dream

the birds are maroon and the sun cyan
with traces and shades of minty green
the flowers are different shades of khaki
the fish in the ocean colored cream

Ive seen enuff I wanna go home
Could never get used to colors this way
apples turned to orange and bananas to olive
and chocolate is the color of hay

I step back outside of the rainbow
Ive seen more than enough of that dome
I like the world just as it is
The true world is home sweet home
