THE EYE OF HORUS |
Influenced the Egyptians to give up their cannibal ways The land of Egypt flourished under his strong reign And took his sister as his wife, Isis was her name She became queen and ruled Egypt by his side Her knowledge of magic she would never want to hide Osiris had a brother who was wicked you could bet The beastly headed demon who was given the name of Set Set had a consort who was his sister as well He oppressed souls of the underworld, what we now know as hell Nephthys didnt love Set, her eye was on another The pharaoh Osiris, who was also her brother She tricked him into making love to her The jealous rage in Set started to seethe and stir She had his son Anubis, who was abandoned by his mom Left him by the nile, beside a royal palm Isis found Anubis and took him as her own Her loving and caring ways, were always effortlessly shown Set had arranged a party for his pharaoh bro Set up a grand feast, his true motive did not show He had a coffin made which was intensly grand He said whom fit it perfectly, T'would be theirs, he had planned. Secretly Set designed the box to fit the very king Out to Set, the wooden coffin, did the servants bring After the feast was over, the time had come too soon, The chance for all the members to lie inside the tomb All of them tried and everyone one of them failed Till Osiris stepped inside and in it he was jailed Set slammed the cover down and locked him up inside Set him afloat on the nile, upon the angry tide Osiris sailed away to another faroff place Set was turning out to be the family disgrace Isis realized what did happen to her man Not knowing where the coffin would finally land She set off to search for the coffin, which had held Her hubby Osiris, to Phoenicia it propelled It came to rest in the roots of a tree inside the palace walls Isis was finding out she wanted to hang Set by his balls To Phoenicia, soon met the queen of Sheba with sickly son Isis would treat the sickly boy till the coffin she had won The boy was so sickly, in the end he finally died With her magical powers, the young boy was revived But Sheba wouldnt give it up, at first, to her it did appeal So the truth that she was a goddess, Isis did reveal Sheba gave her the coffin and Isis was on her way To reviving the corpse within, in the coming day She brought the coffin home, Her and Nephthys prepared the rite Set came and chopped the body up during the hours of the night He threw it in the nile, and it sunk into the mire So that he could overcome and rule his bro's empire She concieved a son by him before set had theived Her of her husband, she thought as she did grieve The boy grew quickly into his heroic fate His hatred of Set, for all of this, would never truly sate Isis found the pieces, all but only one She'd need the last piece if the rebirth was to be done Her son, Horus, finally came to her aid He was a warrior god, strong, determined and brave In a rage, Horus beheadded Isis, for her horrid mistake The gods took pity on her soul and replaced it with a fake He fought the god Set, to avenge his fathers death Fought with sword and shield, and was getting out of breath Set ripped Horus' eye from its bloody socket Horus looking grim put his eye in his pocket The anger for this flooded, it made Horus so mad Took out his ire on Set, who got a whooping bad He slayed the god of death and went to his father Kneeled beside his pieces, the sight of this did bother He fed to Osiris his eye, beside Osiris' wife The power within took over and brought him back to life But the gods would not permit and let Osiris remain On the Earth, amongst mortals, in his Egyptian domain So Horus made a ladder that ascended to the sky Osiris, Isis and Nephthys climbed it as they waved goodbye Osiris was appointed judge of the newly deceased And ruled the underworld as their highest honored priest.
