Does the tarot tell your future?
To a point, yes. While tarot will not necessarily tell you what will happen, it will tell you what could happen concerning a situation. Tarot teaches us that nothing is written in stone and that anything can be changed. If you're given the option of either failing one way, but succeeding another way, then you are given the option to alter your future. Tarot is mostly used for guidance, as opposed to telling the future.

Can the tarot tell when something will happen?
Technically, yes. Its very hard for the best tarot readers to tell time with the cards and its not always accurate. Aces denote beginnings of situations and may show the season in which something will happen (Ie: summer, fall, winter and spring) You must have an ace in one of the last four positions of the celtic cross spread to be able to use them to tell seasonal happenings. Major arcanum cards denote something will happen soon (within a month) Some tarot books will tell you that the lesser arcanum numbers will denote days it will take, but again, in order for this to apply, it has to be in the 7th, 8th 9th or 10th positions and you must have an ace present in your spread. Time telling with Tarot is very tricky and because of its inaccuracy I dont do it.

Does the Death card represent physical death?
Sometimes it could, depending on the other cards surrounding it. Most of the time (9 out of 10), death represents death of an idea, or a project or a time in your life that could be either good or bad. Surrounding death is always rebirth, which implies that you have to hit the bottom before you can rise out of the ash. Death is endings happening in your life and that could apply to anything. The surrounding cards in the spread will tell you what the ending is in regards to.

What does it mean if I have a lot of the same suit?
There are certain energies that each suit owns... Cups are emotions, relationships and/or friendships, wands mean business and enterprise, swords always represent difficulties and challenges, and pentacles represent money issues. If you have a preponderance of court cards, this means that there are many people involved in the situation. If you have a preponderance of major arcanum, this takes on special meaning and represents higher forces are at work concerning your querry.

Why are the cards numbered??
Tarot cards are usually numbered. Major arcanum start at 0 (The fool) and progress up to 21 (the world), tho some decks have the fool as last and start with the magician. The numbers here sort of represent steps one would take to get to where they want to be. The fool represents just starting out whereas the world would represent attainment of a goal. The lesser arcanum are numbered according to seperate energies... they are as follows:

Aces signify new beginnings, or the start of a project.

Twos Direction or first meeting.

Threes Details grow and ideas solidify

Fours This is where the foundation is laid in order to build

Fives First challenge or glitch in situation

Sixes Where issue changes and grows in order to go on

Sevens Variety is added to expand the idea

Eighties Evaluation period

Nines Moving forward to near completion

Tens Completion of a cycle, issue or product

As I stated before, the court cards (King, Queen, knight, page) denote people, each suit having some general features to the people (Ex: Queen of cups - A mature woman who is slighty dark in complexion with blue or gray eyes and light brown or dull blonde colored hair, skin may still be fair but tans instead of burns) Knights denote situations coming or going (depending on how the knight is facing in the card) Pages are messages that your are going to receive... if not a message than a small child.
The court cards are not numbered.

What does it mean if I have a card that falls out of the deck?
This means you need to pay special attention to the card, because its trying to tell you something. When a card flips out, there is usually no need to go any further, that you have been given your answer. However, if this happens, I will go ahead and finish the spread anyway and include the card that has flipped out.

How often should I get a reading??
This is optional really, you get one when you need one, but I will say this, you should wait at least a month before getting another. It takes time for the events to unfold and its a waste of time and money to keep consulting the same question so soon after your last reading, because it will tell you basically the same thing it did before.
A tarot reading can represent up to 6 mos.
