CHARMING DAMNATION
CO WRITTEN WITH KATHRINE D'IPPOLITO

The caliginous night enveloped the Earth
Trekking through an enigmatic wood
A sound to the right...or was it my left?
Fear had frozen me where I stood

A horned owl let loose his call
A sonance that mimicked the cowardice within
Inquiring of the night who trespasses here
Glacial fingers violating my skin

A cloaked figure materialized from the mists
Overpowering my senses, with penetrating stare
An appealing man, my terror subsides
Just a weary traveler, no menace there

A giggle escapes my still frightened throat
How puerile of me to come to the dire conclusion
This man was charming and debonair
Was the threat to my sanity all an illusion?

Each step he took the ground crackled beneath
So close I was wrapped in his warm embrace
He loomed over me with his full ruby lips
My hand so tan against his ashen face

His cheek gently brushed across my cheek
My lips trembled awaiting his peck
But my mouth, it seemed, was not his aim
He turned South and nuzzled my neck

Unexpectedly came a pricking sensation
I swooned within his supporting arms
His mouth still fastened upon my throat
I had succumbed to his powerful charms

He raised his flushing face
A crimson tear upon his cheek
I stared at him with limpid eyes
My head so heavy, my body so weak

Then he uttered the first sentiment to me
"I will supply you a choice" he did confide
Gruffly he implied his intent and said
"You can perish here, now.... or become my bride"

Entranced by his mesmerizing gaze
I fathom, "Should I choose his way of life?
I could rule as his queen of the dead
If I opt to become his goulish wife

Or should I choose death and end all my pain
And rue all the things I havent done
To never see a garden, a rose in bloom
Regardless, never again to see the sun

I decided that the only acceptable fate
was to become his beloved consort
Sharing the nourishment of our hapless victims
Together we venture on our nightly sport.
