A FORK IN THE ROAD
Two paths to take
which way to go?
one leads to sunshine
the other leads to snow

There is danger down
one of these trails
The irony of it
never fails

Down the other is
a pleasant fate
but which one is which?
I vacillate

If I make a mistake
could cost me my life
and add much grief
like a twist of the knife

But if I choose correctly
It could bestow upon me gifts
Luxury, riches and gold
but do I really need this?

I sit in contemplation
weighing out the choice to make
I wish I could just choose already
for mine and heavens' sake

I could decide
not to choose at all
To not gain a thing
nor take a great fall

Left is right, right is left
this confusion has got me peeved
all this never knowing,
curiosity and intrigue

If I choose the path less traveled
I will be safe...tis true
but never see the wonders
of the other that is new

but which path is really darker
and more dismal to walk through
and if I take its counterpart
Perhaps it could be bad too

Maybe the darker one is the right way
and the other my true foe
see, that's the way irony works
that's the way it seems to go

Shall I flip a coin and choose the path
and let fate decide my way?
But would that be a smart move on my part?
honestly, I cannot say

What if fate should guide me
to my very destruction and end
Id rather choose my own path to take
It's trails I would defend

And so instead of walking either of those paths
I decide to walk down my own
I never walk down the path less traveled
only ones that are completely known.
