OPERATIONAL STRATEGY: THE EMANCIPATION OF ODESSA

In the operation code-named "Emancipation of Odessa," the earth federation forces launch a massive assult on the principality of Zeon's territory in Central Asia. The focus of this offensive is the network of mining bases commanded by General M'Quve, whose resources are vital to the Zeon war effort. Zeon, in response has gathered the bulk of its European and Asian forces to protect this vital stronghold. The federation's battle plan call for an eight-directional attack On November 7, U.C.0079,the offensive begins with an ariel assult from the south east. Federation aircraft, divided in to two main forces, eliminate Zeon's own air power and secure control of the airspace over odessa. Meanwhile, Federation forces to the south capture Istanbul and secure access to the Black Sea. Now; the way is clear for the Federations main assult. Three huge "ground fleets" - tank forces spearheaded by Big Tray-class land battleships- sweep in from the west towards the city of Odessa and the mining complex itself.Zeon's mobile suit forces are deployed to counter this ground offensive.

By November 9, the battle has become dead-locked. Despite its air supremacy, the Federation is unable to break through M'Quve's western defensive lines. Will the assult carrier white base, now approaching from the east, be able to break this stalemate? Three days into the operation "Emancipation of Odessa," M'Quve's defense line was inevitably driven back under the intense pressure of the Federation ground forces.its subdivisions include the 7th Division, the 1st Mobile Infantry Division, and the Zeon royal guard. In February of UC 0079 a third branch, the Earth Attack Force, is created to carry out the upcoming Earth invasion. Kycilia's 1st Mobile Infantry Division is reorganized into this independent force, commanded by Colonel Garma Zabi, and its ranks expanded into five Mobile Infantry Divisions trained and equipped for the terrestrial Assult on earth.

Frontline Base: Odessa Defence and Deployment Army AirBase

The Principality of Zeon is the rebel nation of space colonist which now challanges the earth federation. the space colonies of side 3 declared their independence in the year U.C.0058, under the leadership pased to his aide Degwin Sodo Zabi. In U.C.0069 Degwin eclared himself soverign of the principality of zeon, and spent the next decade making plans for a full-scale war against the federation. each branch of the principality's military is run by one of egwin's children, with his eldest son Gihren as commander in chief.

With its invasion of earth, the principality of Zeon demonstrates that its Zaku mobile suits - weapons originally developed for space combat - are effective on the ground as well. However, the Zaku proves less adaptable to underwater operations, and the Zeons ultimately create a completely new series of amphibious mobile suits for this purpose.

After the Principality of Zeon successfully captures more than half of the Earths land surface, it sets out to gain control of the planets oceans as well. However, as a nation of space colonists, the Zeon's have very little experience with marine enviroments, and it's only in the last months of the war that Zeon's submarine fleets begin to play a major role.

The Youngest son of Zion's ruling family. Garma commands the 3rd Independent Assult Taskforce from the flagship Grapzepplin, where he conducts all planning and coordination of operations.

The commander of the Zion's family Elite Palace Guard, he was hand picked by Kacilia Zabi to be the commander of the 301rd Cruiser Squadron. He is a ruthless, calculating, soldier with a strong sense of devotion who has sworn aligance to the Zabi family.

33rd Korps 4th Army Attack Squadron (Light) - Captain Char Aznable

The 33rd Attack squadron is the vanguard of all Intelligence gathering operations for the 3rd Independent Assult Taskforce. Zeon's famous "Red Comet" is a legendary ace mobile suit pilot, a natural newtype who by birth posses lightning reflexes, hightend senses, and exceptional piloting skills, all of which make him a deadly opponent in combat.

Lieutenant Gaia commands the "Black Tri-Stars" a trio of Zeon ace pilots, famous for the capture of General Revil during the battle of Loum they serve under the command of Anavel Gato as part of th 301st Cruiser Squadron's mobile suit force.

Lieutenant Ortega - Commander of Flight Team Delta

Lieutenant Ortega is commander of the 118th mobile suit squadron, the largest formation of the mobile suit training battalion equipped with 24 mobile suits, this combat unit consists of two Mobile Company Teams.


Lieutenant Mush - Commander of Flight Team Charlie

An experienced pilot who was trasfered to the mobile suit training battalion at the insistance of Lieutenant Ramba Ral, known for his bravery in combat and his marksmanship skill.

Grapzepplin Class Land Battleship- The Grapzepplin

The Massive Terrestrial Landships are made possible by the planets peculiar magnetic properties, which allow considerable mass to be lifted by magnetic fields. Because of the expense of building and maintaining Landships, each Fleet fas on ly a few of the largest. The Grappzepplin is one of the largest vessels, and it is spearheading the northern forces current operations during "Operation Emancipation of Odessa". The Principality of Zeon's closest answer to the Federation's Pegasus class carrier, the Zeon Grapzepplin class mobile cruiser replaced the vulnerable H.L.V. for the purpose of ferrying mobile suits around on Earth. With a capacity of 48 mobile suits and a battery of bow-mounted mega particle guns, the Grapzepplin was often used as the command ship for smaller fleets when a Gallop class battleship was either unavailable or unsuitable.

The mobile Land Battleship class, like most Zeon warships of the One Year War, had (4) launch catapults,or could instead deploy its complement of mobile suits through two Mobile Suit Storage Hangar bays, accessible by (2)hatch on the ventral hull.

With a capacity of 48 mobile suits and a battery of bow-mounted mega particle guns, the Grapzepplin was often used as the command ship for smaller fleets when a Gallop class battleship was either unavailable or unsuitable. Lacking the Pegasus class' integral Minovsky Craft System, the class mobile Land Battleship could only operate for short periods in Earth's atmosphere, using sustained thrust. Several mobile Land Battleship class vessels carried the bulk of the remaining Zeon forces at Odessa into space, including a large shipment of resources mined in the mineral-rich region. Principality Of Zeon: Army Group Forces

MSM-03C Hi'Gogg
One of the earliest designs for an amphibious mobile suit was the MSM-03 Gogg, and while being their first truly successful amphibious design, it did have its limitations. To overcome these, the improved MSM-03C Hygogg was developed, and it differed quite a bit from its predecessor in both appearance and abilities. Its outer form was refined, making it more streamlined and increasing its water movement speed. The mega particle guns mounted in the original Gogg's stomach was moved into the Hygogg's hands, allowing for much greater flexibility in its attacks. The Hygogg could also mount a large "hand missile unit" over each arm, equipped with a set of blow-away panels to protect the mobile suit from the blast of the rather large and heavy missile when launched. Only a limited number of these experimental units were built, with three units operated by Zeon's Cyclops Team special forces unit in a raid on the Earth Federal Forces' Arctic base in December UC 0079

MSM-07E Experimental Z'Gok
Following their invasion and occupation of many areas of Earth during the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon military began developing amphibious mobile suits to increase its war capabilities in Earth's oceans and waterways. One of the most successful designs was the MSM-07 Z'Gok, though MIP Company continued to improve this model. This upgraded model was called the MSM-07E Z'Gok-E ("E" for "experiment"), and while similar to its predecessor, it featured many improvements, the most visible being the ability to draw its arms and legs up closer into its body, making the Z'Gok-E more streamlined and faster while moving underwater. Propellant storage for its thrusters were moved from its main body into tanks mounted inside the arms, with energy caps installed in the hand-mounted beam guns, making them able to store up power from the generator and discharge a rapid-fire, machinegun-like burst when required. With this increase in handy firepower for both underwater and land combat, the original missile tubes mounted in the head - which could only be fired out of the water - were replaced with torpedo tubes, giving it additional firepower while operating underwater. Only a limited number of these experimental units were built, with one unit operated by Zeon's Cyclops Team special forces unit in a raid on the Earth Federal Forces' Arctic base in December UC 0079.

Magella Attack
The backbone of Zeons Terretrial forces is the Magella Attack Tank, a deciedly unconventional type of main battle tank. The vehicles detachable turret can fly for short distances, functioning as a crude attack plane with apowerful 175mm cannon. The remnants of Ramba Ral's commando team use these "Magella Tops" during their final attack on the White Base.

Gallop & Cargo
The Gallop is a large hovercraft capable of carrying three mobile suits, which serves a s Ramba Ral's mobile Headquarters during his persuit of the White Base. Its jet engines allow the gallop to travel at high speeds, it can prode covering fire with its rear mounted gun turret. After the destruction of the gallop, Crowley Hamon converts its trailer module - known as the "Cargo" - into a makeshift substitute.

Dopp
Zeon's standard fighter plane uses an unusual modular design,with a windowed cockpit and two engine pods sitting-atop a small fuselage.Highly manueverable, and armed with vulcan guns and missile launchers, the Dopp is a more dangerous an opponent than its bizzare apperance might suggest.

Dobdai YS
In order to extend the range of their Gouf mobile suits ,Zeons Terrestrial forces have adapted the Doai bomber into a makeshift flying platform. Once safely tethered to the Dodai, the Gouf can take to the air and bedevil the vulnerable aircraft of the federations's supply corps.

Jukon
These submarines, the backbone of Zeon's naval power, are redesigned versions of Federation vessels captured during the Earth invasion. In addition to its torpedo launchers and missile silos, the standard Jukon can carry a pair of mobile suits in the hangar beneath its bridge.

THE LAST BATTLE OVERVIEW
With the Zanzibar sighted Carrier Group Hermes started its attack, in the initial long range exchange of ship fire the Carrier Group damaged the Zeon Zanzibar Carrier, but at a loss of two more of its escorting Salamis Cruisers and heavy damage to the third remaing Salamis Cruiser 'Coventry'. Determined to destroy the Zanzibar the two Auxillary Carriers closed to suit launching range, both ships made it with minor damage and launched their Mobile forces. A vicious dog-fight followed, with nether side gaining the upper hand, thanks to the timely arrival of a second Zanzibar. As the Mobile Suits from the carrier deployed, the Auxillary Carrier Fortitude suddenly exploded! Out of the Debris flew the Zeon secret weapon, a Mobile Armor - one of the fearsome Big-Ro’s!!! With no where left to go, and Zeon’s final card played both forces began the last battle to decide who would have final control over the Rainbow shoal.

SCENARIO SPECIAL RULES
Anti-Air - The Federation and Zeon Mobile forces are fighting under the guns of their ships. Once per their turn the Commander gets D3 S6 shoots from his ships anti-air guns. These shoots can be targetted seperately and hit any target (within normal tagetting restrictions) with 18” of their Table edge. Random Game Length - After the fifth turn roll a single dice for every turn on a 5+ its the last turn of the game.

1. Both side roll a D6 the lowest score chooses which table edge he wants to move on to.
2. Roll for who gets first turn. Highest score may choose whether to go first or second. Both players move their forces on from the board edge at the startof their turn.

MISSION OBJECTIVE
The remaining Mobile forces from both sides are committed to this battle to decide the fate of the Rainbow shoal. Each Commander that gets 50 Victory points for each suit destroyed, 100 Victory points for each Mobile Armor destoryed, The Victor is the Commander with the most points at the end of the game.

Special Rules - Mobile Suit Preference: As a ground combat specialist, This pilot prefers to use a Medium Combat Gouf Variant (MS-07B3). As this Gouf offers superior mobility and assault capability compared to the standard Gouf. Note that the cost of this mobile suit and it’s suit modifiers have not been included in character's profile.

Excellent Pilot: This pilot has exceptional skill. He has become so adapt at piloting his Gouf that he can avoid most enemy fire. To represent this the player gets a dodge save. This works just like a normal save, but it is not affected by save modifiers. When player is shot at, roll 1D10. If the score is 6+, the player has Dodged the shot and it has no affect. If it's an area affect weapon, move the players Mobile Suit outside the affected area. If the dodge fails, then the player still receives a normal save.

Special Rules - Mobile Suit Preference: As a commander who has pried her way to the top, Garahau has access to the most advanced Mobile suits and equipment. Garahau always pilots a Gelgoog with the following equipment: Targeter, (1) Beam Machinegun, (2) 115mm Machine-Cannon, and Heavy-Shield

Loyal Soldiers: All soldiers under Garahau's command follow her for reasons other than respect or Companionship. They are loyal to her for some other reason. To represent this, no Zeon Mobile suit in Garahau's unit will ever fall back unless she herself falls back or is killed.

Options: A Major may use any mobile suit in the Zeon army. a major may be equipped with up to 100 points of war gear. Remember that all upgrades and weapons must be represented on the model and no upgrade may be taken more then once.

Independent Character: Unless a Major is the leader of an attack team, the Major is an Independent Character and follows the independent character special rules.

Options: A Captain may use any mobile suit in the Zeon army. a Captain may be equipped with up to 65 points of war gear. Remember that all upgrades and weapons must be represented on the model and no upgrade may be taken more then once.

Independent Character: Unless a Captain is the leader of an attack team, the Captain is an Independent Character and follows the independentcharacter special rules.

Options: A Lieutenant may use any mobile suit in the Zeon army. a Lieutenant may be equipped with up to 40 points of war gear. Remember that all upgrades and weapons must be represented on the model and no upgrade may be taken more then once.
