With an army of inorganic, easily replaceable robots under his command, Julian managed to push forward and turn the Great War from a losing battle to a stalemate. Since the infected Mobians were no longer coming into contact with those with free mind, the enemy's army was no longer growing with each passing day. However, because the Acorn Kingdom had already taken such huge losses, resources were spread thin and Julian found that making enough SWATbots to fully overtake the enemy was not a viable option.
He momentarily considered giving the cure for the virus that he had purloined from Ixis, but decided on a completely different plan that would help him eliminate several of his major obstacles at once. After a short meeting with the King, Julian managed to gain permission to lead a small special ops group deep into the heart of enemy territory in an attempt to capture the head of the opposition, Max Ocelot. Besides the Warlord himself, three other Royal Council members would be going.
- Thomas St. John, Bureau Chief. While Julian had become the leader of all armed forces in the Acorn Kingdom, St. John retained control of all the standard policing bodies. For quite some time, St. John had been suspicious of Julian's activities, but had been unable to find anything concrete against the human.
- Dr. Jared Arax, Minister of Medicine. The spider doctor was far too unpredictable and intelligent for Julian's tastes. He had no doubt that if St. John asked Arax for help, the two of them would have easily broken the seal on his plans and spoiled the entire takeover.
- Charles Lynx, Chief Computer Technician. Lynx had nearly stumbled onto Snively's electronic fingerprints in the castle's computer system several times before, and Julian couldn't allow him to continue making such close calls. The Mobian techie was actually a far superior computer operator than Snively, which definitely made him dangerous . . . the only reason they hadn't been found out already was they Lynx wasn't aware that there was any reason to beef up internal security.
Once across the border, the job went as smoothly as could be hoped for . . . until they reached Ocelot's personal chambers and into Julian's trap. Ocelot had fashioned himself a king in his own right, and had even forced his enslaved minions to build a castle for him complete with a massive throne room. It was in this room that he easily caught the special ops team and killed them off one by one . . . except, naturally, for Julian. The two had been in communication for quite some time, and the human had promised to deliver several key figures in the Acorn Kingdom council all for immunity from Ocelot's rampage across the planet.
But that wasn't the end of Julian's treachery. Using a slightly modified form of the virus, he shut down Ocelot's link to his minions, rendering them completely ineffective, and paralyzed and killed the mad king himself. He then turned a laser pistol on himself and carefully made it seem as if Ocelot had shot Julian at point blank range just as he had figured out the cure for the virus. He sank to floor with an almost-but-not-quite-leathal shot and drifted into unconsciouness, a wicked smile on his face.
The war was won, several major enemies had been removed, and now Julian was about to spring his final act of betrayal . . .
