| 'Lauran, I need to spread my wings. This breeze is so nice,' Midnightflyer said. "Okay, okay," I sighed, "I need to get out anyway. Midoceanbreeze," I called to my cloud glasswing, "I want you to stay here. Don't do anything. I'll be back soon. You can play with Coolbreeze." 'But I want to come with you,' she protested. "You are too young to fly. I'll play with you when I get home." 'Okay.' I mounted my dragon and we launched with a huge leap. Midnightflyer was right, the breeze was nice. The flight was smooth for a while but the breeze we loved so, was the side effect of a big storm on the Valley. 'Lauran, this storm is to heavy for me to fly through.' "Let's land." The blue glasswing landed hastily at a cave entry. 'We'll have to shelter here... all the other caves are too small for me.' "Alright, I'm going to the back of the cave to see where it might go. Maybe there is away out of this place." I walked until my legs buckled and I had to sit on a rock. I closed my eyes and heard hard breathing to my left... further in the cave. "Hello?" I heard no response. I staggered forward to see what it was. *THUMP* I turned and saw to red eyes staring at me coldly. I stepped back. "Diablo, stop!" I heard a voice. The eyes backed away and I saw a torch coming toward me. A girl walked up to me, "You've found my cave?" "We took shelter from the storm here... that is, me and my blue glasswing dragon." She took a closer look at me, "Ah, yes. Lauran, Blue Glasswing and Cloud Glasswing rider... Searchrider that is." "Yes, that's me." "Well, you've found the oldest Rorin... that means you've got a chance." "A chance? For what?" She looked at the Rorin, "Go to the hatching grounds to see..." "Okay," I walked to my dragon. 'I heard... let's go... the storm has lightened.' We flew to where I recieved Midoceanbreeze and I saw a black egg. It rocked violently and finally broke. A small black body rolled out of the shell. The little dragon blinked at me, got to it's feet and walked to me. The impression was made... "Hello... ummm... Shadows." |
