A perfect PC porting of Pure AD&D role-playing to the computer.
This game is HUGE!!, it's got everything! It is like a PERFECT mix of ultima 7 (the 6-person party, the towns, the vast landscapes, weapons show up on main screen, MANY non-player characters(NPC's), etc.), Diablo, (the good graphics, vast assortment of weapons, armor shows up on main screen, vast assortment of spells, etc.) , and AD&D, (the DM is the computer, and you can get together with 5 other characters or players, different class assignments really do matter, there is alignment, there is more advanced profile editing, and stats exactly like the real game, you can even make/import your own facial profile!, etc.)

Look out! I originally heard that this would be like #7 only with MUCH BETTER GRAPHICS,(ones to compare with Elder Scrolls: Red Guard! coming out soon!) But also that it would be more like a movie where less choices are made by the player (Like Icarus.) as opposed to coming at the game from any angle at a lesiurely pace. (Like mixing Myst with Diablo). BUT, as fans of Ultima got word of the style of IX, they got really heated and sent quite a few letters detailing their anger at the switch. SO Ultima 9's release date was pushed back to Jan-Feb '99. AND NOW NO ONE KNOWS WHEN IT WILL BE OUT!! Supposedly anytime this Winter season...

3rd in the series, you are a Silencer, a perfect commando trained by the evil company that you now work to destroy, for the good of mankind.
The other 2 were very impressive. Only this time there is a different crew, and there will be multiplayer support. Like ultima8 with more fluid motion and using the number pad. A mix between ultima8 (In graphics and perspective ONLY) and Mechwarrior2 (you have an assignment to complete. It could be defense, destruction, escape, etc.) I am not sure how this will turn out since there are different people working on NoMercy.
Set centuries before Daggerfall, this is a more action based rpg game.
This is (in their words) what happens when you take all of the Bethsada Elderscrolls programming team's effort to make so many cities in Daggerfall, and take that same effort onto just one city. It is amazing! It's like a mix between a 3-d fighting game, and an rpg game!. It has perhaps the best recreation of a real city ever made on a computer! Not to mention that the in-game graphics are so good, they are fluid with the cut-scenes! (The cut-scenes were built using the in-game engine. But it all looks like cut-scene material!)
Like Diablo, only bigger, better, and has more RPG elements.
This will be perfect! The key differences between Diablo and Diablo 2 will be:
* More NPC's
* 4 towns
* You can hire other characters to help fight evil
* You can go outside into the forest. You can also fight outside as well.
* MUCH STRONGER SECURITY AT BATTLE.NET!!!!
* More player classes to choose from
* The class you choose changes the whole style of gameplay
* The game will have much more RPG elements and a story that has a better driving goal than 'Get Points, Then kill Diablo.'
IT WAS Due out in early '99, But like all the other goodies, It was pushed back!!! Hopefully some time this century !! ;-)
