**Shrine-->TR:Usagi and Seiya

Usagi and Seiya weren't an 'official' couple, but by either reading the Stars manga or watching the anime you can tell that if Usagi hadn't met Mamoru and that she wasn't destined to be with him, she'd have probably been with Seiya. A little background info on Stars o get you going: Sailor Stars is the last season of BSSM, this season (in my opinion) is one of the best and saddest of them all because of the tragic end, everyone died but came back because of Eternal Sailor Moon. In the second half of Stars you meet the Three Lights, or as later you discover they are the Sailor Starlights. Seiya Kou (Sailor Star Fighter), Yaten Kou (Sailor Star Healer) and Taiki Kou (Sailor Star Maker) make up the Starlights. They appear as a hot teen idol singing group looking for their princess who was lost after their home planet, Kinmoku was destroyed by Galaxia and the Animates. In episode # 173 Usagi and the others are going to see the Three Lights, Usagi gets seperated from the girls and gets lost in the crowd. She wanders off in search of the girls, not knowing she went into a 'Authorized Personnel Only' area and bumps into Seiya. Seiya remembers seeing her at the airport earlier, where she was seeing Mamoru off to his college in America. Usagi doesn't seem to remember about their encounter, but while she is thinking about it Seiya says he has to leave. When he leaves, he calls her 'Odango'. Usagi got really mad at him and told him that her 'Mamo-chan' was the only one who could call her that. So that's their first encounter. After that they happen to meet in many places, because the other girls happen to like the Three Lights and some are members in their fan club. Love at first sight is what I call Seiya's reaction to meeting Usagi. He developed a crush on Usagi as time progressed. Usagi often spoke of Mamoru being her boyfriend and not having any interest in Seiya in a loving way, she considered him just a really good friend. It's very obvious that Seiya likes Usagi in episode #181 Seiya asks Usagi to go meet him at the park the next day at 11:00 and Usagi just thinks it's a fun get together when really to Seiya it's a date. I know that Seiya and Usagi aren't supposed to be together, but I think they are one of the cutest 'almost couples' in the series. The above picture (Seiya holding Usagi close) makes Usagi think, his warmth reminds me of Mamo-chan. This is one of the clues that leads me to believe that if Mamoru hadn't appeared in Usagi's life, Seiya would be her love. Close to the end when Usgai is in trouble Seiya remembers Usagi telling him of Tuxedo Kamen always saving the day and throwing a red rose at the enemy to free her, so once when she was in trouble he threw a red rose to stop the enemy, transformed and attacked the enemy. Shortly after the enemy was defeated it started to rain and Usagi was kneeling on the ground remembering Tuxedo Kamen. Not knowing that the other Inner Senshi were watching around the corner he put his arms on Usagi's shoulder and kept asking her 'Am I not good enough?' and she responded by saying 'You're not my Mamo-chan, I Miss my Mamo-chan' and at that moment Seiya realized he could never be with Usagi. After Galaxia was defeated and the Three Lights were saying goodbye to the other senshi Seiya still loved Usagi with all his heart, but knew he could never replace her 'Mamo-chan'. In a way I think that Seiya was sent to be Mamoru's replacement while he was away.
