Makoto first appeared by leaving her old school because her old boyfriend was too painful to be around. Everyone avoided her at first, except Usagi who was interested in Makoto's lunch. Usagi found out what a great person Mako was and invited her to play video games with her after school. At the Crown Game Center, Usagi introduced Mako to, Ami, Rei, and Furhata Motoki. Mako fell in love with Motoki. Later when Sailor Moon was fighting a youma, Mako jumped in and helped without her knowing that she was a Senshi herself. The symbol of Jupiter glowed on her forehead and Luna found another Senshi. Together Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Moon dusted the youma. Makoto is the practical minded Sailor Senshi. She generally serves as a morale booster (in combat only). She has an independent and strong willed personality. She is the tallest Inner and the second tallest Senshi (Uranus is taller), this is why her school uniform is different, they did not have one in her size. She like to step up to challenges (unlike Ami, she fights first before she thinks).
