The Mystery of Blue Moon Forest: Part One

by Abigail_Loy120

Fox was an intelligent, swift and observant fire lupe, always willing to let others have their say. Along with two sisters, Scarlette the red Ixi and Ivory the white lupe, with his brother, Muska, a blue lupe, They make one of the best investigating teams of all time, known as The Four Detectives. They own Oceanbreeze Inn, an inn along the coast of Neopia. This is the story of their first ever case, the one that started it all, The one that Inspired the Detectives Four.

"Room two-oh-one, Crosco Sir. Do you need help with your baggage?" The fire lupe stood at the counter, handing a cross-looking Shadow gelert a key. "No. Jus' tell me where the room is," The gelert replied gruffily, his old battle scars showing clearly on his body as he picked up to large sacks of belongings. "Go up the second flight of stairs and it's the fifth to your left. Have a nice day, Sir." "Whatever." Crosco heaved the sacks over his shoulders and made his way to his room, muttering about having to help his cousins and going to Blue Moon Forest to be a...something about hound...at the same time.

"Bossy un', ain't he, Fox?" said a white lupe, coming over, carying a tray with a few cans of neocola on it. 'We're running out of Achyfi, Fox, Muska's going to buy some more." 'Right, Ivory," replied Fox, watching his sister go to room fifteen with the tray. A red Ivi suddenly bustled along, scribbling on a notepad. "How do you spell Crosco, Fox? K-R-O-S-S-K-O, isn't it?" "No, Scarlette, it's C-R-O-S-C-O." "Right." The Ixi went off, muttering under her breath, something about Kays and Sees. The phone rang. Fox hastily picked it up. 'Hello? Oceanbreeze Inn. Oh, Emeraldwing, Sir?Yes... Sorry, Sir, today's quite a busy day here, and-' "Never mind about that," snapped the green Pteri Boss at the secretary to one of his best investigators. "You get to the NPS (Neopian Police Station) right now, or you're fired. Eff-eye-double are-eee-dee!" "Yes, sir."

The lupe grabbed his detective hat and placed it on his head. Boss knew that he solved myteries way faster and better than his top Investigator Detective Gronko. That big fat excuse for a scorchio never did much. 'Scarlette, take over, Boss wants me." "Again? Tell Emeraldwing that if he wants you to solve myteries, Demote Gronko and Promote you. That lumbering red scorchio could be mistaken for a-" What the scorchio could be mistaken for, Fox never heard. He went out the door. He stopped for a moment, enjoying the beautiful seaside scenery. But almost on purpose, Emeraldwing's voice resounded in his head. "You get to the NPS right now, or you're fired. Eff-eye-double are-eee-dee!" Double 'R' in 'fired'. Boss was never really up to spelling. Fox chuckled slightly as he hitched a ride on a bus to the NPS. "Took you long enough," the Pteri grumbled as he saw Fox enter the building. "We're going on holiday to Blue Moon Forest, theres been a murderin and kidnappin there. The station will be closed. Take the letter and go! Go on to your precious Oceanbreeze!" Fox took the note and went on the bus, which arrived ten minutes later. He was shuddering slightly. Blue Moon Valley was where He, Ivory, Muska and Scarlette where going for a quick three-week break from managing the inn. And Blue Moon Forest was in Blue Moon Valley. Another case he coicedentially intruded upon. He opened the note. It was obviously written by Emeraldwing, the spelling mistakes where hideous.

HELOO, FOXX. WE ARE GOING TER BLU MON FEREST. THEREZ BIN REEPORTS BOUT KIDNAPPIN AND MURDERIN. WEH DUN NO ALL DEE DEE-TALES. WEH'LL FINDOUT MUR AT BLU MON FEREST. GRONKO AND EYE ARE BRINGIN ALONNG EN-FOR-CE-MENT N DETACTEEVES SHEELA N PARKA. B BAK WEN...WOO NOS WEN. BAI, EMARALDWIING

Fancy spelling his own name wrongly. The holiday was tomorrow. His mind flashed back to Crosco, who was actually their cousin, helping to take care of the Inn. Hopefully, he didn't clobber anyone who went asking about himself- Crosco hated Fox. But the thought of 'Sheela', or more better known as 'Sheila', made his heart flutter. That faerie lupe was heaven! Her full name was Sheila G Upronce. He liked to play word games. If Fox Scrambled the letters off Sheila G Upronce, he would get words like Pure, and Grace.

A hit to the lupe's head brought him back to earth. He was drifting around so dreamily his head had hit a window. Ouch. Just as his stop, too. Fox got off and told his brother and sisters about the incident. "We finally get to solve a case with you, Fox!" Muska, the blue lupe, cried, jumping around eagerly. "Horrah!"

"Stop jumping around, Muska, this is serious," Ivory snarled. "Muska Lacka!" Fox cried, pinning his paws over his ears. Muska was starting to be rather annoying, like the lupe he was, singing a song that he was composing on the spot in a broken sing-song opera voice. "I'LLLLL SING YE A BALLAAAD, OF A FORK FROM A SALAAAAAD.."

He was silenced as Scarlette grabbed a cup full of Elderberry Achyfi and flung it at Muska. Everyone roared with laughter. Muska shook himself, sprinkling everyone with the root extract filled drink. "I'll get cleaned up. We can take an early trip to the Forest tommorow. Lets get packing, guys- and Scarlette, Mop the floor." The angry ixi rammed at Muska, causing him to fall back against a soft Kauvara Sofa. We all held our bellies.

"Be happy I wasn't really Angry, Muska, Or I, being an Angry Ixi could ram your head off!"
