Shop Help

Lets get one thing strait. Music does not attract customers, neither does fancy pictures that have nothing to do with anything. Imagine this (in real life). You walk into a store, looking for an item. There is music on so loud that the shopkeer can't hear what you're asking him. You take a look around, and notice a ton of posters of pets, girls, guys, and advertisements that you don't care about. You walk a few feet still looking for the item you came for, then ten minutes later you find it.

My point is that if your neopet shop has some techno-remix of N*Sync, a backround that flashes every single color, and pictures that have nothing to do with neopets (or anything for that matter), then people won't wont to come back again because they were so annoyed.

A good shop doesn't give big long details about how cheap their prices are, the shop description is very simple. It should define what you sell. That's it. If you ever check your shop history you may notice reacurring customers. Alot of the times people come back just for what you sell. No music or anything. All they want is the item. It's okay to have colorful text, but don't make it huge.

That is what makes your shop good. After a while you may start to notice that people are just addicted to your shop, even after raises prices a bit, they will still keep coming back.

Making Items Sell

Sometimes I wonder (maybe even you) why my items aren't selling. This can be bacuase of three reasons.

If you buy an item, or have just found an item, and price it at the price of its worth, then most of the times it won't sell very fast (some items, however, have a lower worth than what they sell for). The best way to find out how to sell your items fast, is to search the item on the shop wizard. Price the item that you wish to sell at the second to tenth lowest price displayed (so you not ripped off).

The second reason why your items may not sell is that your shop size may not be very big. Neopets has clearly stated that the bigger your shop size is, the higher it appears on the shop wizards list. I have also noticed that only the big shops are listed in the market place.

The third reason may only be for impatient customers. If your shop size is way too big, and it takes a long time to find an item, then your customers will probably leave after a number of miutes. To avoid this, get a new account and send some items to your new account. Then connect your two shops by linking them together in you shop description. You can also tell shoppers to press CTRL+F and search for the name of the item they're looking for.

You can price items quicker by opening another Internet Window and going to the shop wizard in the newly opened window. From there, go back to your shop in your old window and copy+paste the names of the items you want to sell into the shop wizard in the new window. Its alot quicker than going back and forth in the same window.
