During my final semester at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, I conducted some research and wrote an Honors Thesis Paper. The topic I chose was "Developing Pedagogical Visualizations of Dense Matrix Operations on Interconnection-Network SIMD Computers". In short, this means that I was creating animations of parallel algorithms. All the parallel algorithms I worked with were related to matrices. I would solve the algorithm using Java and then make the Java code spit out some scripts into a file. Then, the Animal tool would take these scripts and turn them into an animation. These animations could then be used in an unergraduate classroom. back |
